She ordered a taco, which she found enjoyable, while I went with a two-piece chicken dinner featuring two Original Recipe legs. What I ended up with were two very small legs—one was so tiny it felt like I was eating a baby chicken. It wasn't the Original Recipe I expected; instead, it was overcooked and greasy, with both pieces being tough and chewy. I recall that the two-piece meal used to come with coleslaw, but apparently...
If you're passing through Newton, Iowa, and considering stopping at Taco Bell on I-80, I’d recommend thinking twice. I ordered the two-piece original recipe meal and added an extra biscuit, expecting the famous tasty biscuits. Unfortunately, the biscuits were stale, likely reheated from the previous day. The chicken also seemed like it had been cooked hours earlier. I paid $1.29 for the extra biscuit, but honestly, I could have made a whole batch of delicious biscuits at home for that price. After driving 20 miles from Grinnell to Newton for this meal, I can say as a new resident that I won’t be returning. Overall, it was a total letdown.
We ordered a meal for two for $23, but it didn't meet our expectations. The chicken tenders were tough, and the fries were cold and mushy. The taco box was just barely warm. On the bright side, the biscuit was hot and fresh, which was nice. Additionally, the staff member at the drive-thru was exceptionally friendly, and I truly appreciated his positive attitude!
Over the past month, all three of my visits have been disappointing. I never received what I paid for, and when I tried to order a 20-piece bucket, I was told it wasn’t available and they weren’t making it. If that’s the case, I’ll just take my business elsewhere.
