My only disappointment with my meal was that I ate alone and could only sample a few of the dishes. The owner is super friendly and welcoming and very happy to give advice and recommendations. Don't you hate it when you try to eat a new kind of cuisine that you are not familiar with and you want to just eat what the locals would eat, and your waiter just looks at you blankly when you ask them to recommend something? No such issues here! I tried the eggplant, the lamb shank, the ashak (dumplings) and the pancakey type things (I took a lot home!). Good size servings, delicious flavours - everything is fresh and tasty. Next time I go I'll take the whole family. Great value. Friendly atmosphere....
We ate here last week. Lovely food, very proud owner! Kept showing us his award from the food section of the Sydney Morning Herald! We had kebabs and montou which was lovely. Also tried dogh - we were expecting something like Lassi - but very different in taste! Not sure that I will try it again. Very clean restaurant with extremely clean toilets. Service a bit slow with only 1 waitress on. A bit noisy with the ? Afghani TV playing. Well patronised by locals. We will eat here again .
Dinner on Saturday night at Khaybar was delicious. The owner was very friendly and suggested 4 different plates for our meal and we added a plate each of Bulanee Kachalu and Bulanee Gandana (pan fried filled turnovers). Very simple fit out in the restaurant which added to the simple but lovely tasting food. Service was very efficient on a Saturday night but not rushed to get us fed and out of the restaurant.Well worth a visit to this lovely restaurant in Auburn
Teenage daughters and I dropped in for a quick lunch in Auburn, We were after something authentic. This was pretty much the first one we walked into. We shared the kebab plate, lamb shank w / rice and beef dumplings for starters. Everything was delicious! Friendly and attentive owner. Loved the pics on the walls. Perhaps some light background music instead of the raucous daytime TV to lend some ambience, my only criticism. We'll be back!

Hidden amongst the shops of downtown auburn is an Afghan oasis.The food is delicious from the very first morsel. I had the lamb which was mouth watering and my partner had the chicken which was delicious and just fell off the bone.The Afghan deserts were wonderful & light and finished the meal off superbly.Definitely worth the travel from any part of Sydney you will not be disappointed and the prices were extremely reasonable.
Wish I had a bigger stomach to try more items. Afghan food is not chilli spiced nor too heavy on species.. This place definitely is great. The meat platter was great as the meat was tender, well seasoned and tasty.
Good service, clean, and delicious food. Prices are reasonable. Some servings were small and have small meat portions. Otherwise recommended.
Awesome food great experience lamb shank with rice and bavaria drinks was a delight will definitely head back again sometime soon hopefully

The eggplant dish was the highlight of the meal. Really good flavours and definitely authentic! Would highly recommend the trip!
