Stayed at hotel Whilst the room are spacious and the bathrooms cleaning has a lot to be desired never replace or clean cups glasses or anything to do with the breakfast the refill of condiments or brakfast items even though pay extra each day for it rarely got done. no vacumming no dusting no emptying of bins etc after asking at least three Times for the room to be cleaned it Finally got a full overall. We asked to change sheets after after 5 days and i was told you only change home ones once a week so thats what we do and your not at the grand chancellor. restaurant is very basic place tried a few things on the menu the steak was cooked the best asked to have veg instead of chips was told y...
Despite the food service being lowest priority for this Hotel, due to better income from bar and gambling I guess, we received friendly service and the lunch was quite good. For $25, a good serve of scallops, chips, and a pleasant salad. There is also an entrée cheese/meats/bread and dips plate which is terrific value with lashings of bread and good quality meats etc.The dining room is quite large, and has an extension to a covered extra sunroom. Despite not having a pleasant outlook, the interior is fine, and handy to have plenty of parking at the door.
This hotel has a food service that is run to a barebones price, and the food that was served to us for dinner reflected this.My partner had a fish and chip meal where the batter was of greater quantity then the fish. I had the house snitzel which was paper thin beef that had been sliced on a meat slicer, and then liberally battered both sides. The batter was then crumbed and the whole lot deep-fried. It came with a salad that was less than average.All in all we are highly disappointed
We recently had dinner here. Usually our meals are enjoyable but this time my scallops were the smallest I have ever seen. Not only that, but my food was barely warm, I think it had been sitting out for quite a while. My husband ordered the chicken parmigiana and he enjoyed that, plus it was piping hot. I'm not a big eater but I was still hungry when I finished my meal (that's how small the scallops were). Won't be going back there again for quite a while.

We were on our way to the Salty Dog and decided to give the pub a try, as we were not overly financial that day. The special was some sort of exotic Moroccan lamb which sounded very nice. Unfortunately we were served dry, tough lamb chops with a sprinkle of spice and little else. The general attitude was offhand. The beer was ok though. Won't bother again.
We stopped for lunch at the Kingston Hotel, the meals were very good and very well priced. The staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful giving us advise of local places to go. Even though we won't go back, this is only due to the fact that we are running out of time before returning home. Great place to visit.
A local arranged for our group to meet for lunch here. Good place for a large group. Food was your average pub fare and service was okay. The bar staff need some training in customer service skills as they were sourfaced and unfriendly. Will take our gathering somewhere more amiable next time. Thank you.
Called in for a group meet for dinner. We all agreed the food was mediocre at best. Atmosphere is non-existent and there is that awful 'hotel' smell of some cheap aerosol freshener spray. Won't return for a meet here.

Thought I'd get a cheap lunch at the hotel. No lunch specials, Food was average, garden salad soaked in oil, chicken parmigiana was ok, nothing to rave over. Chips were excellent though.
