We were traveling home and were staying at the Hampton Inn within walking distance of Kita. I did a quick look at the menu and we decided to go here for dinner. The restaurant is very nice inside and conversation friendly. Our server was very attentive. They have an extensive menu including sushi and teppanyaki dishes. We chose to go with teppanyaki. I had the scallops and my husband had the salmon. It comes with soup and salad, fried rice and a ton of veggies. The food was delicious! All was perfectly prepared. Portions are a good size and the prices are more than fair. My scallops were under $30 and I got 9 of them! If we lived closer, we would definitely put Kita on our list of go to rest...
Had not been for a while so the menu has changed at least for lunch. It’s just not as good as it once was. Got the only shrimp dish that I thought was close to what I used to get there. It was not very good. Sauce was way too sweet. The shrimp were crispy battered and honestly could have come straight from a Seapack box of those. Came with a little bit of broccoli and plain steamed rice. Not fried like it used to. Not very good. But the salad and dressing were the saving grace and that was delicious. But for $15 with a water and a credit card fee this is a pass for me. I did note that on their door they are offering a 10% cash discount so that is nice if you carry around cash.
Honestly the place and service was nice and my friend got hibachi which tasted delicious I , however, got sushi but to be honest the sushi I got was probably the worst tasting sushi I have ever had. I got the geisha and Boston roll and both were not good at all. The fishy taste it had reminded me more of when you let fish stay out for so long without being refrigerated. Overall I don’t think I would come back for it considering sushi is my favorite food.
I LOVE this place! We are from Louisiana and have had a hard time finding a place here with good sushi. This place has it! And amazing service! We will be back! #as of 10/23 They have changed the menu and from what I experienced, you can only get bowls now. Definitely nowhere near as good as before. Very sad bc they used to be amazing. The atmosphere and decor were nice.Our sushi roll was ok but my chicken dish was drowned in sauce that was sickeningly sweet. Broccoli was limp and the chicken tastes like freezer. $50 meal plus they charged us $1.50 'credit card fee. ' We come to Charleston every year and probably won 't be back ?

This place is so amazing. Food is fantastic. Robby gave us the best service ever! Definitely coming back : We got the filet and chicken, lobster roll, and the wonton appetizer! The portions are also good, you get the bang for your buck.

Absolutely fabulous meal, presentation was superb, staff was warm and friendly. Can’t recommend enough. They stand head and shoulders above the standard sushi fare in the area. Thanks for a great meal!!
This might be my new fave place to eat around the area. Good food. Good people working in here too.
