we have planned a cultural day in our holiday to sylt. we visited the museum and the old Frisian house. a little culture is not bad. on the afternoon we stopped to try the little teestube. beautiful place, but everything in keitum is beautiful....I ordered a rum tee, which is nothing but black tee with around. the waitress came back with a can of tee and that around in an extra. the tee wasn't really hot and the one that smells like it was, well, all in the wide range. but she brought sugar bonbons instead of normal white sugar. zucker bonbons take long into the tee to solve and it gets cold. We went to have tea and cake at the "Kleine Teestube", which pretty much matches the fairytale pictures of a North Frisian house you might have on your mind. The tea selection was extensive (and the teas we dried tasted very well). As far as the cakes were concerned, selection was already quite limited (given we went there in the late afternoon and the place is hugely popular), but the quality of what was available was really good. This is a popular place in Keitum. Most of the time it is quite busy (lucky to get a table). As others have said, it is charming, quaint atmosphere inside (like in a doll house from olden times), and they have a large selection of teas. Sorry I did not try the Waffle; maybe next time. I was in the mood for cheesecake, but found it disappointing, and bland. In fact, it had no taste at all so I had to squeeze some lemon drops onto it in order to eat it. Also, I thought the coffee, and the cake, were rather pricey, so I guess you pay for the charm. However, I will try again with a different cake next time.
Beautiful little garden with cute bold bold little sparrows that beg for their share of your cake. Usually packed, so don't expect to get a seat any time. Little nuisance: the airport is close, so a jet might drown the conversation once in a while. However, this is not O'Hare!Cakes are delicious, and you just can't beat the atmosphere with flowers and the scent of rose hips in the air. We visited in the summer and were seated outside.

Apparently this is the place to head to in Keitum for cake and tea. Unfortunately we were a little late in getting there and all the cakes were sold out so we were only able to order waffles which were yummy as well. A lovely place to walk the streets and view the local houses and architecture. Just be sure to head to the Teestube early enough to ensure you get to try the Friesentorte which is apparently the best on the island.
The Kleine Teestube is located in a typical house of Keitum and offers also a pleasant garden when the weather is fine. Once you get in, you feel a very cosy atmosphere.The menu card of teas is very wide and the tea itself very tasty. You can add also a cake or a pancake. You just have to take care because they do not take orders anymore after 6:00 pm which is already one hour after the nomal time for tea time.
Stopped by for a break on our bike tour. The tea room is in a quaint thatched roofed house. The garden area was inviting. So was the interior. We had the Teestube Waffle with blackberry jam and cream. Was nice. Cappuccinos were ok. The hit with other guests seemed to have been a pot of tea and the Friesentorte, something to enjoy if you are not conscious about your waistline. Looked great.
The spacious patio is always crowded and you will quickly know why. The choice of teas and the sweets are delicious and not even overprized. On a sunny day late afternoon an absolute must if you are close to Keitum.

Quite busy on the weekend. Coffee was decent but nothing exceptional, their tee selection however is huge. There are several pages on the menu dedicated to a wide variety of teas.
You want to have a break after a bike tour: Stop by at the Kleine Teestube in Keitum and enjoy from a long list of speciaty teas (and coffee) and home made cake.
