We saw the $12.99 Shabu deal and thought it was a steal, but all the soup bases are an additonal $2-4 unless you get the original. The portion was good and very filling, but is normal for the amount your paying if you get a different soup base. There was no wait time and the service was a little slow, the servers randomly cursed but they seemed very chill. The ambiance of the place was okay it was in a tent but isn't bad. This place used to be good, but no longer. Indeed, it is a terrible place now. I have been a regular for years (before the name change and ownership transfer, which was way before the pandemic , it is unimaginable that I'd be giving it a 1-star rating. As the other recent 1-star ratings mentioned, service of this place is laughable. At best laughable. This new group of servers are simply clueless. You'd be seated and left unacknowledged for 20, 30 or even 40 minutes. There is no urgency to serve their customers. Orders would get mixed up if you are lucky enough to get your order taken. Pretty bad. Came tonight 8:30pm barley any patrons there. Got seated right away. I noticed the table next to us hadn't ordered yet, that guy got up to flag the waiter to order. While we waited to order. Another party came, they sat down flagged the waiter to order. The waiter took their order and left. They have indoor seating now, so much better for LA summer weather! This is one of my favorite local hot pot places. Although they are not an all-you-can-eat, the serving sizes, price, variety, and meat quality are still very good! There's also a relatively new $12.99 special with beef or pork, vegetables, and ramen that is pretty filling for those with smaller appetites. Overall, this is an affordable and good quality hotpot place!

KOKUMI is a great restaurant for quality shabu-shabu. First time eating here last night, and was impressed by the broth options they offer. The Fire Crab broth was delicious and unique, with a spicy and sweet flavor that really enhanced my meal. I ordered the large wagyu toro, and the quality was excellent. Portions were great with veggies, rice, and ramen included with the meat. Minh was a great server, definitely will be back.

I tried the tomato soup base and it has some salmon, a shrimp, and mussel added in. Very flavorful. The crab soup base was spicy and added additional 1/2 crab. Service good. Outdoor seatings ok on a cool night. Very decent Shabu for this price. We will come back!
the portion for the special is little, we got like 10 thin slices of meat, few leaves of veggies and rice. The waiter didn't tell us about miso soup base cost 2 extra, so it is like 14.99 for the set. The drink is 5 dollar for a bottle of coke in glass. So it is like 20 dollars for my meal. I am not happy with the amount of money I spent versus what I get to be honest.
The owner and staff are incredibly friendly! The quality of the meat and soup is far superior to Mokkoji! This was my first time trying it, and it's the best shabu I've ever had! The restaurant is quite spacious, so there's plenty of seating available. Please consider supporting this place; the owner truly deserves the business.

Very nice place. Not too crowded but despite that they manage their crowd really well. They have nice hospitality before during and after meal. The food itself is great, the broth especially the OG broth is also great. Usually don't write reviews but this one is worth the money and time to visit.
