Kubota Japanese Cuisine

I came here for lunch today since I was really craving salmon and rice. I ordered the grilled salmon (set) with teriyaki and it came with salad, miso soup, rice, edamame and agedashi tofu. Everything was really delicious! The agedashi tofu had a slight chilli spice to it that was unexpected but really tasty with the broth. The salmon was cooked really well and and the skin was deliciously caramelised. The set cost $19.50 and I walked out super satisfied and full. The service was also quite attentive and lovely and there are nice signs on the wall inviting questions and noting the staff all speak Japanese. Came on a quiet Friday afternoon, ordered a lunch set. The restaurant has a nice homey feel, with outstanding service and great value (there was quite a lot of food for one $21 lunch set: including beef+rice, miso soup, edamame, tofu, and salad). The waitresses swiftly took finished plates away, refilled water without us having to ask, and chose specific takeaway boxes for us to use based on how much food we had left. They even glad-wrapped a container of sauce for us to eat with our leftover tempura.

We tried the wagyu beef teriyaki bowl, the salmon bowl, and the teriyaki kingfish. The wagyu bowl was tender and packed with flavor, while the salmon bowl had a refreshing lightness, complemented by the pickled ginger that balanced the richness of the salmon. The teriyaki kingfish was slightly overcooked in some spots, but it was still enjoyable and flavorful. Overall, this is a great spot for a Japanese lunch at reasonable prices.

Very authenticated Japanese restaurant, best dish would be Tempura, chef nailed it, lots of Hana Goromo. Sashimi were served on prefect temperature and freshness. Deep fried Mochi reminds me a very traditional chinese street food 'Zha Gao '. Whitebait was good too but lack a little bit of crispyness. Very authentic Japanese restaurant in my local area. <br/ <br/ We had an amazing lunch there on Sunday. Quality food made with fresh produce. I have to say we were pretty impressed worth the food quality and size for their price.<br/ <br/ The staff are very polite and helpful. <br/ <br/ Spacious ambience, perfect to go with kids and even with a pram.

I had a delightful lunch at this restaurant. We enjoyed a salad, tofu, soup, and grilled salmon, and everything was incredibly delicious. We left feeling very satisfied. This place is definitely a hidden gem! I can’t wait to come back and try their dinner menu next time. Service was great, and the food was perfect for lunch.

Five stars for the quality and value of the sashimi don lunch special which is sold in very limited numbers each day. Make a booking for 11:30am to ensure you don't miss out. 14/8/21 edit: they are doing the lunch specials during lockdown as takeaway bentos, and they are just as good! Order ahead by phone.

This is a very cozy, small local restaurant. The food maintains its authentic flavors and is perfectly seasoned. It’s a comfortable spot for family or friends to gather. The teriyaki chicken is one of the best dishes I've found in Sydney! Reserva una mesa ahora

What a gem in Petersham! The Japanese food here is fantastic, and I can confidently say we enjoyed every dish we tried. The portions are generous, and the service is fast and attentive. I can't wait to return! #kubota

Amazing deal at lunch time! My favourite is sashimi assorted. Full of my stomach but also it is very delicious.Kids friendly and nice service though we are very happy to have Kubota our neighbors !!
