We love visiting the historic Hotels of Switzerland, constructed a century or so ago, to soak up the wonderful atmosphere of how life must have been at the belle epoque just before WW1 changed life forever. Usually we expect a bella vista site and a...dramatic construction full of towers and turrets of neo classic vistorian follies, but mediocre food and ambience. Imagine the surprise arriving on the terrace of the Kurhaus on a beautiful sunny day in July to find one of the most spectacular views of Mt. Collon. The pleasure mounted on finding a menu with french, italian, and of course Swiss dishes including freshly made in house pasta, pesto and other delicacies, matched by an adequate wine...

beautiful terrace facing the arolla comb, attentive service, meal - that we wanted simple - with original well mastered flavors. an aperitive walk in the reserve of early aroll and meleze forest adjacent to the hotel put us in appetite. Forecast an hour and a half to discover the flora of this reserve left to the good wishes of nature, by a marked path full of signs attracting attention to such plant, such tree or geological curiosity, an idea of what nature can be when it is left to itself. our light meal, octopus salad and remarkable desserts of freshness and flavors, was accompanied by a bottle of heida "sweet master," native white grape from the neighbouring valley that leads to zermatt....

the hotel/restaurant is relatively far from the center of evolène, about 25 minutes by car. However, if you are looking for a beautiful setting, a complete tranquility and a quality regional cuisine ... it is a good address. the staff is kind and professional. The menu is well provided with local dishes, fondues, crusts, Valaisian plate, etc. but also with brewery dishes such as beef coast, parsillad veal liver, etc. we opted for the beef coast which was very good, blue cooking as requested, crispy fries. Too bad the vegetables are frozen. less qualitative dessert pies despite the fact that they are sold as a house. on the valet side of the wines, I regret the little choice.

the plan was to take carbohydrates for an upcoming mountain tour. in the light of the suggestions of the beautifully located garden restaurant, we were quickly taken away from our project. we chose fresh foie gras on melons and as the main course for a delicious lamb. large compliment to the kitchen. this in a unique environment and the scenery for alpine heroes -;)last but not least: excellent price-performance ratio.We are happy to come back! This was the second time we went for a dinner at the Kurhaus. Excellent food and friendly staff. There are suggestions and an a la carte menu, which also include the traditional dishes of Wallis. The plates were of good size, the quality of the...food and the presentation were really nice. The restaurant has a cozy feeling with a fireplace. On Saturdays the locals also gather at the bar.

after a short walk on the marmot trail, stop in this beautiful restaurant. Super reception. Lunch on sun terrace we took a glass of delicious fendant in aperitif and then rostis from the hiker with Valaisian plate which is very copied with a bottle of german red wine on the advice of the waiter...and result a superb winerestaurant magnificent in an idyllic setting

smoking the duck, we were thrilled to find out this place. reception and very smiling service. small glass of dry and fragrant muscat for the aperitif. quickly served entries and menus and quality products. an absolute calm and the long-awaited freshness made this moment particularly pleasant.

had dinner here with a group of 11 hikes the e had a prescribed menus on this included suppe and escape. the meal was very good and the waiting staff was attentive. we also had a beautiful red wine. Reserva una mesa ahora

They make an amazing rösti! And great beef grilled in the chimney (winter time). I found price of desserts a bit excessive. Good selection of wines. The last order at 22h. Friendly staff.

We walked up to the Kurhaus and it is a beautiful setting. The service was nice, the food delicious. The wine was excellent. A great experience.
