Horrible service. Not allowed to eat inside for dessert, we were promised there would be no smokers “and if there are I’ll kick them out” and then 5 minutes people started smoking and the waiter had us move to another table. I had to repeat 4 times that I wanted a pancake with sugar while he kept trying to convince me to have a pancake with nutella. We requested a bottle of water of 1 liter to share with 4 persons but only received 2 glasses. On top of all this he made ridiculous and silly noises and walked away from the table often before we were finished talking The food and drinks itself were ok
You had to try to get your own idea. In fifteen days on the ile, we tested several restaurants. The chaloupe is by far the worst. the restaurant name seems to be usurped. fresh products, we didn't get them in the plate. the portions seriously lack generosity (but anyway, we had enough so bad.) we went there two days after having dinner in the cellar (just next to it) and the comparison is unattractive for the chaloupe. as much as stopping by and advising the chaloupe to people that we don't like:o
We have returned to this restaurant we have known for many years. if the reception and service are irreproachable, the dishes offered are uneven. Served in hot plates, the scallops and the salmon were good but the squirrel was fade and lacked cooking. The frying of splashes proposed to the aperitif is to be avoided because it is served cold, which removes its flavor.
In raintime, a lunch at the restaurant is required! We couldn't enjoy their terrace but their warm room with fireplace. Eight fried mussels, fried and copied Pineau des Charentes, beautiful coast. We recommend it! Perhaps a little expensive indeed, but the quality and kindness of the servers are there.

We looked at several of the harbourside restaurants and chose La Chaloupe. The service is excellent, the ambiance perfect and the food is the best around. Particularly the seafood. We enjoyed dinner so much that we returned for lunch the following day. Thank you to all the great staff.
Excellent restaurant, very nice staff, this is our canteen every time we spend our vacation in Oleron! I recommend mussels with rock: to fall! The muclade and the fish skewer are also delicious! And the value for money is unbeatable.
Friendly staff and a nice location but the food (we had four different seafood dishes and 'huitre chaudes' as starters) was cold.
Reception, fast service and we ate well. Very well prepared curry clay and the fisherman's pot was visibly well garnished
