I typically tip the cook because I recognize the hard work that goes into their role. The cook does an excellent job, but I've observed that the waitresses seem to claim the tips I give her, despite the fact that I have already tipped them as well. This lack of respect for the customer is disheartening. There have been times when I’ve seen a waitress sitting idly while the cook goes out to clean tables—it's inappropriate. It's unacceptable for someone to take what I willingly give in appreciation of service, especially when I’m also put in the position of tolerating bad manners. Food I ordered a bean and cheese burrito and chilaquiles. Both were really good! Service Lots to say. Picked up my order, got home, and it was the completely wrong order. Was given menudo. Called them to let them know so I can get my correct order when I drive back. The girl worker said it was MY fault for getting the wrong order even though SHE gave me my food. Went back to pick up my order, got home, and they didn't put birria on my chilaquiles. Small little place with authentic food. I had the birria with chilaquiles breakfast plate. Bomb! You can tell this place is good because people kept walking through the door to pick up their to go orders or dine in. Everything tasted authentic with grandma's cooking type of Mexican flavor. Also, huge portion. I couldn't finish my plate and that's rare lol. The server was great and brought some chips and salsa out for us while we waited which was good. I tried two of their salsas and both good. The piña agua was perfect! I will definitely be back. You can pay with debit or credit card but they only accept tips in cash.

First time eating at this restaurantI had taken things to the UPS to return from Amazon and I looked at the place but it was almost always closed, now I wonder why a restaurant that on weekends you have to line up to get in only opens 3 days, but I finally got to eat and the truth is I was surprised the handmade tortillas are deliciousAnd the food is fresh, the waters are 100% natural, you can feel the flavor and the service is very friendly. I visited today to try their food for the first time, as the reviews seemed quite good. However, there was a sign on the door in Spanish stating that they are only open on weekends. La Cocinita, I suggest you update your operating hours on Yelp and all other relevant platforms. Customers shouldn't have to arrive only to find a sign with new hours.

The food is absolutely delicious, and I can't wait to return and try something new. The atmosphere is just right, and the service is excellent. I'm definitely looking forward to my next visit!

Wow!!! The food here is delicious! Highly recommend the birria and menudo! The meat is so flavorful and tender! The homemade tortillas are the icing on the cake!
