La Isla Downtown - Reservar una mesa

La Isla is a funky little place in Hoboken serving excellent Cuban. All three of us had the Cubano (Cuban sandwich) which was delicious! We also had the relleno de papa and the tostones each of which were also very good. The mojo with the tostones made it extra tasty. Portion sizes were good. There's not a lot of room in there, but they do also have some outside seating. The place fills up, so get there early or prepared for a little wait. The food is worth it!

I’ve been coming here for 15 years and love the main dishes, but lately, anything off the beaten track of the menu is just ok or not good. The Camarones al Ajillo was so off the shrimp was dry and the sauce was way too dense. It was not a white wine sauce but a dense cheese mix which sounds good, but was off…it took over any taste of the shrimp. The service is always excellent but I have to point out to stay away from seafood on this menu.

We came here and it was a wonderful experience! They have limited indoor seating and we wanted to be inside due to the rain. We were sat at the bar and I loved the cozy ambience from the decor to the “bartender.” Their coffee is great!! And food was amazing at a great price for a Hoboken restaurant. Definitely recommend for authentic Cuban food :

Great place for an early dinner (no alcohol): relaxed, great tasting and with a lot of smiles! Make sure to try the Pollo al Ajillo con Espinaco, it’s heavenly! I had Yuca fries and rice with beans as sides and they were also very tasty!

We came here because of a Reddit recommendation and were not disappointed! We had the huevos rancheros and the Cuban sandwich, and they were both delicious. The staff is friendly and the prices are reasonable. Highly recommended.

One of the best meals I've ever had. I ordered ropa vieja with yuca and plantains, and everything was full of flavor and perfectly cooked. Thanks to the kitchen wait staff for a great lunch!

Love this place. Be better if it was not always so packed. Sometimes they hurry to turn over tables but I would heartily recommend.

Food was so good, the service was so awesome ? I love it and can't wait to get back to Hoboken New Jersey to eat there again
