I enjoyed a delicious meal at this restaurant, although I received steak instead of the barbecued meat I had ordered. The service was prompt, and the prices were quite reasonable. I don't mind paying a bit more for great food, but here, the prices were fair, especially with the tasty daily special they offer. The seasonings and sauces could be a bit limited, so feel free to ask for extra if you prefer a stronger flavor. I've visited this restaurant several times with my mother and grandmother and sampled a range of dishes, including quesadillas, pupusas, nachos, grilled shrimp, carne asada, plantains, rice, guacamole, chips and salsa, and pico de gallo. I highly recommend this place.
La Luna is your classic Mexican restaurant bar you'd typically find in strip malls or smaller shopping centers. Due to the ongoing pandemic, we opted for takeout. Although the restaurant was closed, orders were placed at the bar for takeaway. Our food was prepared quickly, fresh, and full of flavor. The steak tacos were outstanding, and the beef burrito—truly a mammoth portion—stood out, made with real steak rather than the ground beef often used outside California. I can't stand hamburger meat in my dishes, so this was a big plus. La Luna’s menu impressed us, and we’ll definitely be returning soon.
The food was delicious which is the reason I gave it two stars instead of one. The service however was not good. The waitress was not attentive and took too long. I would have understood if it was busy but that was not the case. I will definitely be getting take out next time!
La Luna is not the right place to bring children; it definitely isn’t a family restaurant. Instead of attentive service, the staff tends to dance rather than serve, resulting in poor service overall. The menu does not make up for the lack of proper hospitality.
