La Ricetta recently became my father in-law's favourite restaurant. Its dishes are "authentic and flavorsome" we've been told. Well I like to keep things real - I'm not Italian, I don't know what's 'authentic', but the food was quality, full of flavour and overall enjoyable....
I consider myself in a good position to judge a good 'Salt and Pepper Calamari(or squid)'. These ones were definitely decent. To be honest I couldn't remember too well because they were outshone by the prawns. These were fresh, plump & juicy with just enough crunchy coating (so its not too heavy/oily)...
The food is wonderful and the servings surprisingly generous. I was disappointed with the service though. We went on a busy Saturday night and the waitstaff - one very jovial gentlemen and three grumpy women - were overstretched. The old lady who served us wasn't the least bit pleasant. Other reviewers have praised the "warm service", but sadly this was not extended to us.They squeeze in multiple bookings in the evening on the same table and we were told repeatedly that we had to leave by 7:30 pm. By about quarter-past this had become a very tiresome refrain and the staff were focused on one thing only: getting us out the door as quickly as possible. We went to La Ricetta on a busy Friday evening for a relatively quick meal before seeing Tom Gleeson across the road at the Enmore Theatre. The service was quick and efficient and the food was great - genuine Italian cooking. Arriving at 6pm we were comfortably out by 7.15pm. They do pack the diners in on busy nights so provided you don't mind sitting very close to fellow diners then La Ricetta is a good pre-theatre dining option.
I love risotto and I can't make it, so when I get a chance I ordr it. I wasn't disappointed. Ordered the main meal size and it was Plentifiul, soft, just the right gluginess and filling! I would've liked more parmesan on top, mind you, there was probably enough in the risotto! We were a walk-in and were able to get a table immediately and just as well as the pre show diners filled up very quickly not long after we arrived.

We love going to La Ricetta the food is so fantastic and service is exceptional. A few of my favorites are the figs wrapped with prosciutto, also the delicious olives, zucchini flowers, and my kids love the gnocchi, the Lamb dish that melts in your mouth, OMG the chocolate fountain dessert. Anyway we are having our twin children Holy Communion there soon. They also have a great selection of wines.
We have dined here many times and every time the food is great. We love the stuffed Zucchini flowers they are to die for. When ordering we find that the entree size is more then enough for us with 3 courses. The service is good sometimes a bit busy for the staff but the food makes up for it. Great home cooked Italian food with loads of flavour.Highly recommended
We were looking for a quick meal before a show at the Enmore. This place took our interest and did not disappoint. Seafood and crab risottos were just perfect. Topped off with a nice rocket salad. Quick and friendly service. Fantastic :)

We would certainly return, good Italian food,good service,the fit out in this restaurant is comfortable.

This is my favorite restaurant in the whole world! Not an exaggeration Eat the Gnocchi Sorrentina.
