If I am not mistaken, this will be the first review of l'Abreuvoir restaurant this year and having read previous comments I can confirm that the food is still as good as it was reported to be back then. We live near Nantes and had heard from our neighbours that l'Abreuvoir was a place to dine and even spend a night (or a weekend - very tempting promotions with champagne and dinner included...). We were not disappointed. As one other contributor wrote, the foie gras was indeed amazing, the best we have eaten and the portion considerable. We live near Nantes and had... heard from our neighbors that l'Abreuvoir was a place to dune and even spend a night (or a weekend very seductive promotions with champagne and dinner included... . We were not disappointed. As another post wrote, the foie gras was actually amazing, the best we have eaten and the portion considerable. My salmon and cancer mousse (served hot was a pleasure to eat and our main course (copper or cash and monk, succulent). Desserts of pineapple and Grand Marnier soufflée.....
A family friend treated us for lunch to experience a traditional Brittany meal. Starters was foie gras - the serving was huge. Home made by their I house chef, placed atop a sweet cake and mixed with a few greens, pickled beets and some dressing - DIVINE! Thought I couldn't finish it, but ended up cleaning my plate. The wet wine which was a specialty went great with it. Their beef tournedos and fish was also a culinary delight. It was a surprise to meet the chef who is very young and so talented. Best meal ever!

The wet wine that was a specialty went well with him. Her cattle tournedos and fish were also a culinary delight. It was a surprise to meet the boss who is very young and so talented. Best meal ever!
We were travelling back from France on Sunday last. After travelling for 2 hours we decided to have a break and it was lunchtime anyway. My wife tapped in to the Satnav and up this reataurant popped up. A mile or so off the road...and up a country lane. This is a country hotel with a restaurant. We had the most amazing meal ever, my pud was a grand marnier souffle that was to die for. Granted it wasn't cheap but as a friend of mine once said, good thing no cheap and cheap things, no good.

Great people who are very helpful to this hotel / restaurant. The rooms are very spacious and clean, plenty of storage space and a safe in the wardrobe. Excellent outdoor swimming pool, which is heated, this is a must to use. The food is stunning, so much choice and...nicely presented. The waiter we had a great sense of humor, sad that he was retired in 2 months, he was very entertaining. Breakfast was buffet, food and much or as little as you want. Go back. Thank you.
