my man and I have booked a table for dinner and were informed that we would put ourselves in the house because of the weather conditions that were cold and windy. we arrived and were directed at a table. when I asked the waitress, she said that she was confused. boss and there was actually only one table in the restaurant and it was outside. it would not have been for the fact that we had traveled some distances to reach the restaurant, and there were no other restaurants around, we would have gone. we had no choice but to sit on this table (despite having no jumper/coat to wear) and were said we could move in later. there was no excuse, but a sharp, rude response from the waitress that this...

We ate dinner at L’Aile having passed it during a cycle ride and been impressed by the positive reviews on the web. There is a fixed price menu which works out at 35 euros for three courses. My partner had smoked mussels followed by mixed...grill of fish whilst I had pannacotta of mozzarella followed by veal and chorizo kebabs. Everything was very well cooked and although it was hard to find fault with anything, it wasn’t quite the stellar gourmet experience some have alluded to. Perhaps we didn’t choose well. The wine list was long and very good value for money.

a great little restaurant that is away from the beaten but is worth a visit. it is not huge (maybe 40 covers), so that reservation is recommended definitiw. the homemade apéritif (cognac and pineau) was excellent. the éclade de moules (mussels cooked on a bed of pine needles. in an open fire) was delicious and very demanding. it is worth going for it! I chose the Dessert Winning Games, but after seeing others who had ordered the pain, I decided to do the wrong thing. want to go back and try the unlimited gambas prawns next time!

The food was great, we shared the Côte Du Boeuf which was delicious. Came slightly more rare than we would have expected but it was really tasty all the same. The hosts were very friendly and spoke good English. Make sure you book in advance...as it gets very busy. They offer a discount if you take 3 courses, although we only had a main. Would highly recommend this place, and if you’re walking from St Martin De Re make sure you take your torch for the walk home as there aren’t any street lights. Reserva una mesa ahora

we went to a birthday meal, we booked through more measurers and got a really fast answer to accept the booking. we were warmly welcomed when we arrived and received a selection of tables. the menu is really interesting and the whole amount of food cooked. on an open fire. the eclade de moules on the fire boiled were amazing as the steaks. for dessert, richard had the Café-Gourmand, who was spectacular. visit them when they are on the island.

We have cycled past this place umpteen times and promised ourselves a visit, and got the chance this trip. The food was a real change from other local restaurants, and we all thoroughly enjoyed the mussels smoked over pine needles. Our mains were varied and...delicious, and my desert must surely be in my top ten ever or best deserts. Served well, a fair price for great food. Will be back again soon.

Our airbnb house was around the corner from the Aile de Re restaurant. We watched the clientele every evening and squeezed in a last minute reservation just before the kitchen closed. Very friendly owner (also runs a restaurant in St. Martin de Re helped us...with tools to repair one of our cycles when the pedal came off ;
