We went to this restaurant twice a couple of years ago, and were very impressed, if anything this time it was even better. It is a small place, so make a reservation to avoid disappointment. It is also not really a place for children, diners are there to experience fine dining and don’t want to watch your kids fidget and whine. Also not a place for people participating in the latest food fads: Gluten free, Vegan, etc. They have a limited menu of what is fresh at the moment, what they really excel at is seafood. The waiter was very good, he made some recommendations, which were right on. Including tactfully steering us away from the local wine (which I seem to remember is not that good) What is good is the Island made Pastis, which we started with. My first course was a carpaccio of Monkfish (Lotte) served with a small tasty salad. It was garnished with some small tart berries and Salicorns (a type of local seaweed) Not only did it look lovely, but the flavor blend was excellent. My husband started with foie gras done two ways that he enjoyed very much. We both did the main of Monkfish, it was served with an interesting vegetable medley: Snow peas, edamame, artichoke heart, and carrot. Delicately blanched Salicorns were in play here too. The sauce which complemented the fish to perfection had whole peppercorns. I got the Tomme cheese dessert, they have a way of shaving it so it looks like a beautiful ruffle, it is accompanied by a berry sorbet and again, a little garnish of Salicorns. My husband got the chocolate dessert which was excellent as well. It is a small, intimate, yet casual place with an original decorating theme of the beach and the sea. An excellent dining experience, can’t wait to go back.
