The food is delicious! Nicaraguan homemade comfort food. Small, hole in the wall type of restaurant but it feels cozy. Everything from the drinks and the food are delicious and authentic. It's a bit pricey, $20 per plate, but if you're in the mood for Nicaraguan cuisine and in the neighborhood, it's a good place to try. Street parking is plenty. In a moment of panic, thinking that Nicaraguan cuisine would enhance my presentation, I turned to Google Maps and discovered that Las Segovias was nearby. As they were almost closing for the night, I nearly begged for any remaining food. To my delight, they welcomed me in and prepared a dish of gallo pinto along with some fried cheese blocks, which I was hoping would be simple yet delicious! I am extremely thankful for their generosity! I will certainly be sharing this restaurant with my class when I highlight their amazing food!
This is one of two Nicaraguan restaurants located in the area, both of which are just around the corner from one another. The menu features a wide selection of traditional Nicaraguan dishes, ranging from small bites to hearty meals. The service here is exceptionally friendly, making you feel as though you're enjoying a home-cooked meal. However, I've noticed that the prices are on the higher side and appear to increase with each visit. Despite this, it's still a wonderful and authentic Nicaraguan experience.

We have enjoyed delicious food from this restaurant for years, but today my husband ordered the Bajo and salpicón. I'm not sure what happened—whether there's a new owner or just different staff—but the food was terrible. It had no flavor, and the Bajo was excessively salty. My husband asked for gallo pinto, but they served him plain white rice, which was also bland. I really doubt we will be returning.
