No the most salubrious eatery in town and we probably would have walked by if a local wine shop assistant hadnt recommended it. It doesn't pretend to be a fine dining restaurant but the moules and burgers (for the kids) were as tasty and well-prepared...as any of the other restaurants we visited. The house wine was suprisingly good (and half the cost of similar wines we bought in more upmarket restaurants). A pleasant and unrushed venue for lunch or early evening dinner. Btw, not sure what the creperie is called across the way (doesn't appear to be listed) but this is also a great little place visit both if you can't decide between them like us!
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Our waiter (I cannot remember his name) was so much fun and very easy on the eyes, may I add! The proprietor stopped by our table every so often to see that we were fine, or to have...a quick chat, or both. Perhaps it was the champagne I had and the company that I was in, I was in such a good mood at that place. The food was quite good and the atmosphere was very relaxed. I really liked it there. We stayed until closing time spent close to four hours there. One of my best memories of being in France over the summer!
this restaurant (bistro semed ideal as we were on the go all day and wanted something simple in an unsightly atmosphere. well prepared moule et fries with a glass or two of wein matched us very well. service was fast and friendly, price quite reasonable for La...Baule. would go back there.
