I 've lived in Philly all my life and have never visited this legend of the community. lol I was pleasantly surprised. The crowd was 35 and up and seemingly a bunch of regulars. The bar tenders were super friendly and poured generously. The music was good (a bit old school 70s-90s) and the atmosphere was dope! The bar is modern, nicely renovated, and afro centric. The backyard is a cool. It is large and has a variety of lounging area. I wish I would have taken pictures but I was too busy drinking, eating and interacting with the patrons. I had the best time.......the food was hot and De Lic Ious, the drinks were perfect, the service was slamming (professional and friendly) and the Atmosphere...WOW, you can forget where you're at...The DJ made you get out of you seat IJS, AWESOME chill spot with real grown folks vibing, real conversations, and ladies men representing Black Love. I can't wait to go back!!!! Almost forgot, great lighting and clean bathrooms (my pet peeve)
I'll start eating. The grits with crab meat were delicious for the first time, but not so great the second time. Not sure why. I heard the salmon bites are amazing. The drinks were strong, which is absolutely necessary after a long working day at work. When my friends and I occasionally meet after work, Lou Choos is one of the few places I like because it's close to my job and both the young and mature crowds supervised.
the drinks are the worst!! The establishment is OVER cutting the drinks its making everyone sick...Lous choos for years has always had great music, food and atmosphere. However, the new owners is doing a disservice by not serving quality drinks.

If I could give this food 0 stars I would. The fish was like rubber and had absolutely no seasoning on it or the breading. Completely inedible and waste of money.
