I have been attending this restaurant for about 6 years for Yum Cha. Always enjoyed it but it has been through several changes including ownership change, twice, I believe. Decided to try it again. That was my mistake. Everything has changed. I used to love the Peking Duck pancakes which were generous but are now called Beijing Duck pancakes. I guess in order to apologise for the massively reduced size and content. They were tasty, though.To describe, I've never had to book. Just turned up and was seated. Today however, even though there were plenty of tables not marked as reserved I was told that I could only sit at the marble bar. Not ideal but I'd made the journey so I accepted. I assume...
Stopped by for an anniversary dinner on a midweek night. Love the modern industrial feel of the place, so first impressions were good. We recently were fortunate enough to dine at Mahjong.. upon entering the staff were extremely friendly and attentive.The food was without peer for freshness, flavor and value and the accompanying wine list was brilliant and well priced.We can't wait to return with our friends..Well done Mahjong!!!
Terrific decor with tables well spaced. Welcoming staff were attentive and efficient. Good menu with plenty of choices. Staff were helpful in pointing out dishes suitable for a coeliac guest. Dumplings were tasty; salt

Friendly staff, prompt service, great food. Recommend the pan fried pork dumplings! Heaps of room inside for a big crowd, but not too crowded you can still hear the person opposite you talking. ????????
The staff were very helpful, and the food was delicious. So glad we came across this little gem, a very enjoyable evening. We will be back next time we are in Melbourne.
Still the best San Choy Bow in town. Service is fast and efficient, food is excellent and the drinks are reasonably priced.
