Mariscos Y Birrieria El Prieto

First the ok stuff, Clean, Friendly, kinda nice vibe and the wooden structure was well done and looks great. Ok the not so good stuff, Carne asada taco, not so bad, but not good either. carnitas taco, overdone, tasted dry fried texture. taco De Abobada, same as the carnitas, dry fried texture which made it not appealing. So nothing horrible but they can do a lot better. bad stuff, a glass of Jamaica cost $5.40, ya not coming back here again. Parking is a mess currently and is difficult. No pricing on menu, or anywhere, please forgive if I missed it, but I didn’t see any.

Ordered the carne asada tacos which were good would give those a 4.5. Had good variety of sauces and sides. Also ordered the Coqueta mariscos dish had good flavor and shrimp, octopus and scallops had great flavor was just let down that they used imitation crab instead of real crab would give it a 4 out of 5. Ive had similar dish for same price at different establishments that used real crab and tasted much better. Would definitely return for the tacos and try other seafood dishes. Service and staff was amazing.

Mariscos Birria El Prieto is a go-to establishment in the heart of Main St. Chula Vista. The setting consists of two food trucks, each of which specializes in either Mexican seafood dishes or land and air. The food from both trucks is very tasty. The aguas frescas are very refreshing too. The consome stand is a free for all great addition as a side or enjoy while you wait for your orders to be ready. The staff is super friendly and so are the customers. I always make new friends when I go there.

There are no directions at the entrance, and no one greeted us to show us where to order. Once I made my way towards the food trucks and was looking at the menu a male waiter rudely told me to place my order up front, terrible attitude. Food was alright, shrimp was definitely low quality and overpriced. Overall not the most friendly atmosphere, I’ll probably stick to ordering online. Reserva una mesa ahora

I used to go twice a week for tostadas de ceviche de pescado, everibody in my family loved them. Two months ago something changed: I don’t know if they changed the kind of fish or the cook. Second time I find it tastes bad. I will give a third opportunity in a while, if it stills bad, I will look for another place

We went to the new covered place they put on Main St. Everything is okay, but the taste of the hot food…not much. The adobada was very golden brown and doesn't taste like adobada. The birria consomme was too seasoned. A roast meat cake, very greasy and the meat dry and tough. And the tacos are almost $5 for one.

Is the second time I go and the service is not what I expected, food is ok but not that good to have a 5 star. Atmosphere is very off and no music on.

Tacos de birria are huge and delightful, but make sure to ask for a consume because they serve the tacos dry.
