Mel's Fish & Chips

My wife and I went to Mels approximately 4:30 this evening. We sat at a table and there was only one other couple in the place and they received their food about 5 minutes after we arrived. The waitress came and took our order. People start coming in for take out, waiting about 10 minutes and getting served. We sat there about 40 minutes waiting and finally my wife call over the waitress and asked her if she put our order in she said yes our order was placed. We sat there another 15 minutes, still no food and by this time they have served 7 or 8 takeout orders. Finally the waitress noticed we are getting a bit agitated and came over. I love Fish Chips ..... so when i moved to town i was looking for a great place to get some. I randomly Popped into Mel's 0ne night just as they were closing. The staff was awesome and set me up with a 2 piece Pollock even though they had already started shutting everything down for the night. I took the order to go and loved that they wrapped in in Newspaper. when i got home the food was awesome. I now drop in 3 or 4 times a month and its always a great meal with great service. If you get a chance to pop in I would highly recommend it

Excellent food and friendly service. Definitely our “go to” place for fish and chips. We love how the fryers are out front and you can watch them make your meal. It’s like stepping back into time in a good way.

We love going here. In our opinion, this is the best Fish Chip place in Woodstock. The staff is friendly, the restaurant is absolutely spotless! Great value here.

You have to get your fish and chips on a Friday, that is when the oil is fresh. We always get our fish and chips on a Friday, fresh oil makes all the difference.
