Waited over 50 minutes for entrees. Me and my fiance had their duck steak and NY steak with their frites. The duck steak was very delicious. Our live oysters came out within 10 minutes. We ordered a second set of oysters, our server asked us if we wanted our steak entrees to come before the second set of oysters and we said yes since it sounded like it was ready. A long time after, still nothing has come out. Our oysters came and we wondered where our steak is at. Our server even admitted it was his mistake. We did not really care much about that until the manager came and spoke with us. we inquired about anything they can offer such as a simple free desert for waiting such a long time after...
Who knew Minneapolis had such an incredible food scene. Meritage is a prime example of this by offering diners French-inspired classics, as well as sneakily tucking in unexpected twists like the Tiny Tiny Tuna tartar taco. This restaurant is a Minneapolis staple situated cozily within an old building. I sat at the oyster bar but was able to see the entire restaurant, which was packed with lots of folks on dates. For those who know me, they know I all but have a French fry eating disorder, and boy was I delighted by the cornucopia of fries presented to me with scrumptious béarnaise sauce. The restaurant offers delicious food expertly prepared with skill and creativity, along with impeccable service. The bar is knowledgeable and attentive to detail. The staff even allowed us to rest before opening one day and went out of their way to accommodate us during a busy time. We never felt rushed during dinner, and the menu was perfect for a cloudy fall day. The raw oysters were labeled, and our server shared stories about each type. The wine selection was excellent without being pretentious. Our entrees arrived at the perfect temperature and were some of the best we've ever had. We are interested in returning for a tasting menu. Absolutely fantastic restaurant! It has a stylish and classy ambiance, perfect for a date night or impressing family. It was great to see a diverse range of customers, from young to seniors, dining both with and without their families. The restaurant seems to have rooms available for small parties as well. The wait staff was attentive and the food was delicious. I especially enjoyed the French onion soup, which I haven't had in a while. My wife loved the salmon dish. Excellent atmosphere! Food is easily the best in St. Paul or Minneapolis. As a long time resident you can't find better pork chop than here in the twin cities area. The pork chop was perfectly cooked. The fat was properly done as it had a crispness toit that was almost like bacon. And the sauce it was served with had a sweetness to it that perfectly paired with with thechop. The staff is also fantastic. If youre not familiar with a more french inspired menu they know exactly what you're gonnawant. Honestly can't recommend this restaurant enough.
We had a lovely experience dining here for the first time. Alex, our server, was knowledgeable, friendly and had great recommendations. I had the best oysters I’ve ever had, the drinks were phenomenal, and the teeny tiny tuna tartare taco amuse-bouche was delectable. It was decorated beautifully for the holidays and the ambiance was charming. We look forward to going back soon and sharing the experience with friends.
The service and food at this restaurant were amazing! The atmosphere was excellent, with beautiful decor, delicious food, attentive staff, and a touch of sophistication. This is a perfect choice for a special date night. Although it may be a bit expensive, it is definitely worth it. The dishes are all made with seasonal ingredients, making the flavors truly exceptional.
We absolutely adore this place. Great service (just tell them if you're looking for a more intimate experience because people are at your table often). Always get the oysters!
