With a Mr.Pickles and Sam's Cafe in the same neighborhood this gives you three legit sandwich places that offer different things to go with your sandwich. What Mr. Pickles brings to the table is a VERY IMPRESSIVE selection of liquors and beers! I mean literally just look at the section and be confused on what to buy. Of course the sandwiches are LEGIT and they have been DC local for many years! The owners who work in store are very cool neighborhood people who care about community and do a great job as local business owners.
this place is legitimately good, and it stays open late, so, that makes it very desirable in my opinion. if you're able to get there, you will not be disappointed. the sandwich tastes great, and they will make it to your specific requests. the staff is friendly, and they have all sorts of cool things for you to look at while you wait, or, you can just chill. either way, don't sleep on this place, they're very yummy!!!...
Good sandwiches here. No complaints from me. I had the carnivore and flying Dutchman; They put the bread in the toaster oven for a little to get a cripple. The meat is microwave. No line at 9:30. I add them to my list of late night food places. I noticed they're not putting the sandwiches in the old Miss Tomato logo sandwich bags anymore.
Philly cheese steak sandwich on Dutch crunch bread with everything is what I ordered, italian stallion is what I normally get each time, but I had to try the Philly this time and was pretty good and so filling and saved the other half to eat later, price at $10.99 Good size sandwich.

Bad. Miss Tomatos Healthy Kicks Sandwich was pooly constructed, dry, had hard avocados, and was missing condiment I requested. pistachio Baklava is NOT baklava. Its shredded wheat (if you can believe that) with syrup and some pistachios. No filo no baklava.
The spicy chicken sandwich is THE best I've ever had!!! crispy spicy cover with well cooked chicken: sooooo good, the lingering taste remains!!
