Fantastic experience. I hadn't been here since before the pandemic and finally got around to trying it again, and it was just as good as I remembered. Our waitress was amazing and kept up on refills- which was greatly appreciated considering the hot day outside. My table started with the vegetable tempura, which is always a hit, and I ended up getting the sashimi salad and a vegetable roll both of which were delicious. My friend got the salmon, which was also amazing (we all traded bites so we could try a little of everything! Miyabi 9 is the best sushi joint I’ve been to in Iowa. I have dined here twice, and both times I found the service to be excellent and the food was delicious. My favorites so far include the: unagi nigiri, soba noodle bowl, amaebi nigiri, ika nigiri I had some strict dietary restrictions due to a medical condition (this was a year ago) and I still appreciate how accommodating and kind our waitress was. Customers who don’t like noise may be a bit turned off by the atmosphere, but I thought the music was fun and didn’t mind it since the food was so good.
The waiter was nice, but mumbled/didnt speak loudly enough so it was a bit painful trying to communicate(plus never got our water refilled). I had went earlier in the year and loved the decore, but was unpleasantly surprised upon arriving to see mostall of it had been taken down, every wall but 1 being barren. Food was good, but it didnt feel like we got the experience beingpaid for. I'd like to go again on a date night, but there are always 3-4 other sushi places downtown.
Ate here many times before, and with the new owner taking over the restaurant, it's just as good (If not a tad better)! The sushi I had was great and all at a good price! My server Chelsea was super nice and accommodating and let us know her personal favorites, which were really good. The sushi chef was also super nice! Overall I love the new atmosphere and will definitely be coming back!!
This is the best sushi restaurant in town, and possibly in the entire Midwest! The sashimi and sushi are incredibly fresh—better than I ever anticipated finding in this region! The cooked dishes, like the tempura, taste just like they do in Japan. You can truly see the chefs' dedication in every dish. I will definitely be returning!
