Visited for a tea time takeaway, yesterday. First fish and chips since March and lockdown. Good proper reasonably sized portion of chip shop chips. Nice batter on the just cooked haddock. The fish was nice and white, but could have been a bit bigger. Perfect...mushy peas but the size of the portion was minute. It wasn't a complicated order but the assistant struggled to get the right fish with the right portion of chips. With a bit of proper management this place could be a real find.
I came here for fish and chips, as the restaurant is named Mr. Cod. One would expect decent fish and chips, but unfortunately the portion sizes are small, comparable to a McDonald's Happy Meal. The chips tasted old and greasy, and the fish was flavorless and small. The quality of the fish is low and it would be better to make it at home. Additionally, the staff was rude and unhelpful. That's all.
So we left our house at to make it before closing time we arrived half an hour early for the rude gentleman to say everything is finished! Very rude staff who want to leave well before closing times so your left hungry! Food is...small portions and over priced won’t be going back!
Just collected food on way home from a day out with the kids. Got home and the chips were missing. This is the second time this has happened. Shop now closed very unhappy. Reserva una mesa ahora
The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious and the staff are always helpful and friendly. I find myself coming here every day for their amazing fish and chips.
This is our first time since the lockdown to have a Mr Cod and it was very nice and a wonderful change to cooking. Their chicken pieces are very good too.
The restaurant manager with a mustache is rude and dismissive. I always go to the Whitley Street location, even though it's farther away.
