Believe it or not, I have been coming to this restaurant for over 35 years and have received a friendly greeting at the door from the same manager every single time. What a legacy of fine service and fantastic Yakitori in Los Angeles. They offer table seating as well as bar seating. It can be fun to watch the food being grilled, if you are ok with not facing your dining companions. All of the Yakitori dishes are great, but I especially recommend the Tsukune (chicken meatballs), Shiso Chicken, Tebasaki (chicken wings), and their specialty Nanban Yaki (top sirloin). The best recommendation is to pay attention to the daily specials. They often have Hamachi Kama (Grilled Yellowtail Collar) and i...

The worst owner and the service. Food is average but over priced. I've been there a few times and I am pretty sure the the owner is a racist. He asked us to pay with cash because the machine had broken but I saw when that he took a credit card from the table next to me and they were Caucasians. At the very first time I thought I'm overthinking or I'm too sensitive, but next time I had a very similar experience which is related to related discrimination. The Japanese owner say hi to only white. Even he is an Asian. This is so funny. Even some of my friends have similar experience. Their food is not bad, but not that great but the owners attitude was very unpleasant. There are a lot of good re...
I can't say enough about this little gem. The food is consistently great: a mix of wooden-skewered deliciousness grilled to perfection, fish, meat, veggies. It's a very popular place, for a good reason. The only occasional challenge is making a reservation. It's old school in that you have to call in. The best time, as I've learned, is between 5:00 and 6:00. Otherwise, they tend not to answer the phone. It's possible to get a table or seat at the grill bar if you show up, but challenging on Friday and Saturday nights. It's so worth the effort. I have a friend who is a Michelin-star-seeking foodie who calls this the best restaurant in Los Angeles.
3-6-23 Monday. Finally I am writing a review after 35 years of being a customer. My ex and I, and Randy Jackson (yes the Randy Jackson plus many others, would frequently drive from the valley to enjoy this wonderful place. The restaurant is cute, classy and the staff very attentive. I have been loving this food as it is fabulous, delicious. My 2 favorite dishes are chicken meatballs and bacon wrapped asparagus : There are many items and of course Sushi.AND: All this is thanks to Tony. Who has been there for over 35 years. He is polite, professional and so very handsome ; Enjoy! Bon Appetite’Reservations a must. xoShari Reserva una mesa ahora
My husband and I visited her 4 years ago. It was amazing then. And it was amazing again. Coming from San Francisco we were expecting the price for the quality of food that we received to be much higher than what we paid. We will visit this place every time we vacation in L.A.
Authentic Yakitori with entertainment courtesy of the impatient newbies having conniptions over the reservation system dining protocols. Repeat after me: there’s a minimum, you need a res or be prepared to wait, leave the Amex/discover cards at home and bring your vax card.
Absolutely love this little charming restaurant. Tony makes the experience friendly with a family feel. Food is very tasty and different and relatively reasonable. Service is good too. Better make reservations even though we didn't....Food: 5/5
Great food. One of the best Japanese Yakitori in West Coast. Friendly people and great owner. Been coming here for last 25 years. Owner has more silver hairs but same old great services. Well done and keep it up.Food: 5/5 Reserva una mesa ahora
