He did everything except for the cooking, and while the service was acceptable, he lacked any sort of personality. My friend chose the Rib Eye steak, but it didn't even look like a Rib Eye to me; it resembled a Top Sirloin instead. She found it tough to cut and was also dissatisfied with her meal. This restaurant boasts a charming and intimate setting, located in the lower level of a beautiful Victorian near Bart city hall in Hayward. The prices are quite reasonable, but the service was a bit slow. While I did enjoy the prosciutto-wrapped shrimp starter and the ribeye steak and scallops for the main course, I was not particularly impressed with the other starters or entrees chosen by my group of four. My trout was overcooked, quite dry, and seasoned with pepper, and it was topped with raw shavings of cauliflower. On a positive note, they have a lovely outdoor patio. Overall, I would give the ambiance a 5, the service a 4, and the food a 3 or 4, depending on your choices.
I brought my French Father in-law here as he wanted a good steak and this was nearby. He was very satisfied with everything and was even impressed by their wine list and I couldn’t agree more. Delicious food in a very calming atmosphere. They even accommodated my wife who’s vegan and was nervous about asking for that special request. The waiter encouraged her to speak up when she wants something and I fully supported his encouragement. The service and food were outstanding. I ordered the rack of lamb, which was cooked to perfection. The roasted potatoes, heirloom grains, and pomegranate reduction sauce paired beautifully with the lamb. For dessert, we enjoyed the flourless chocolate cake topped with ganache, hazelnut truffle, and caramel coffee sauce. The Cabernet Sauvignon suggested by the waiter was a fantastic match for both the lamb and the dessert. I can't wait to return!

This is a lovely spot for a special dinner. The Caesar salad had a unique twist that I enjoyed, and the warm olives were fine. The ribeye steak was generous in size—I couldn't finish it! The accompanying potatoes and greens paired well with a mild horseradish sauce that complemented the steak nicely. The pan-fried fish was delicious, but watch out for a few small bones. The dessert was just right—not overly sweet.
I read the one star reviews so I was prepared for 'not so good ' experience. Wrong! Everything was great. Great service with the 'front of the house ' person taking care of all customers we didn 't wait for anything. Spot on service, friendliness atmosphere. The food was delicious. We had salads and 3 different entrees, then desert. We decided we will be back soon and try other menu items.

I really love this place! It's a charming mom-and-pop restaurant, so it's a good idea to make reservations, but walk-ins are also welcome. The atmosphere is cozy and relaxed, and the customer service is excellent. The food may take a bit of time to prepare, but you can enjoy a glass of wine while you wait.
