New Brookland Tavern

I really enjoy this venue; it’s always a fun experience. Just a heads up, it can get quite warm inside. The bartenders are fantastic. My main complaint, however, is about the guy who operates the sound booth. He is incredibly rude and aggressive toward attendees at the shows. I’ve seen him slam the barricade forward, hitting people in the back, and he’s even pushed people off the ledge at the back of the building. Personally, he used his phone to repeatedly poke my shoulder to get me to move. Everyone else is great, but he is definitely the worst, and from what I've gathered, everyone else I've talked to feels the same way.

First time patron and I had the extreme pleasure of seeing HR (Bad Brains) perform at the NBT this past Friday. This was especially memorable as not only have I wanted to see HR perform since first listening to the BB in 1983 but life 's twists and turns took me away from punk/reggae/alt-rock shows since '88. Nice to be back in my old tribe even if only for a few hours. NBT is a cool place I LIKE IT! Nice crowd and staff was generally very friendly. A shame that I 've lived in the Midlands for the past 29 years and never visited the NBT until now. Looking forward to my next visit.

New Brookland is probably my favorite place on earth besides my own bed. I've been coming here since I was in high school, and it's always been THE spot to see bands. As far as venues go, The Senate is fine, but they don't hold a candle to this place. If a band you love is coming to Columbia, pray to your deity of choice that they're coming to NBT.

incredible sound SYSTEM/TECH! saw mcchris, crunk witch and milo kobeyashi on the 2nd juli. not only the sound crisp, the eating was great, bar tender was super attentive, and the place was intimate, but not crowded! parking is not hot, but the experience is worth the walk of a lot/garage. we were in our smartcar, so it didn't bother us

I can't explain the love I have for this place. every time I went for a concert, the experience was amazing. for if the dug formed, the people would stop helping each other when they fell, the bands were just as important. I wish I could formulate the happiness I felt. I recommend this place for others!

They offer many great bands and have a decent selection of drinks. Someone will always recommend going when they mention a band playing there. Photos come from the Red Jumpsuit Apparaturkonzert

Enjoyed shows here as a teenager still enjoying shows plus alcohol here as an adult. This place is a staple to West Columbia

The ambiance for the show was wonderfully intimate. It's a shame that it's closing down; I'll definitely miss it!
