This is arguably the best Dominican restaurant near Columbia Nursing/CUMC, and if it's not the absolute best (since I'm not Dominican and won't pretend to be an expert on local cuisine), it's definitely the closest. Their rice and beans are incredible, and I absolutely love their pollo al horno and pernil—I can never decide between the two because I enjoy both so much. The lunch prices are very reasonable, but be warned: you might end up in a serious food coma that leaves you unproductive for the rest of the day. Still, it's totally worth the sluggishness!
The restaurant has a cozy yet delightful atmosphere, and the food—especially the breakfast—is absolutely delicious. We tried the mofongo topped with fried and scrambled eggs, served alongside fried cheese and salami. The scrambled eggs were so tasty that I craved a second helping! I often enjoy Dominican breakfast, and this has been the best one I’ve had in a long time.
Pros: The Chicken Stew and Roasted Pork were both delicious. The chicken and pork were tender and perfectly seasoned. The lunch special is now $9 per platter, which includes a serving of rice mixed with beans. I also tried the cheese empanada, which had a bit less cheese than I anticipated, but it still tasted great after warming it up.
Cons: I can’t think of any!
The food is outstanding and the staff is exceptional! The chicken and ribs are packed with flavor, and the meat practically falls off the bone. The dining area is tidy and welcoming, making it a wonderful spot to relax and enjoy your meal. This place is the perfect hidden gem for both lunch and dinner.

I visited this charming little restaurant yesterday for lunch, and the food was incredible. It offered authentic Spanish cuisine that reminded me of my grandmother's home cooking. The staff were friendly and courteous as well. I can't wait to go back!
New San Francisco is a cozy, charming spot with a nostalgic feel. It’s a popular place, though seating is limited and the service can occasionally be a bit laid-back. Overall, I’d give the food a strong 4 out of 5.
I think it's more convenient to order to take out. The prices are fair compared to other Hispanic restaurants. The food is very tasty. If you are on a strict diet, I do not recommend this food.
If you're in search of truly authentic Dominican cuisine, this is the perfect spot to visit. Make sure to try the pernil—it's absolutely delicious, and you won't be disappointed!
