it was a tuesday night and my wife and i had decided to check out vivid down in barangaroo. we stopped in the city for a heart-warming cocktail before making our way down. a staff member at the cocktail bar recommended nola to us after hearing we were headed that way.it would have been after 8pm by the time we arrived and the restaurant was full. the host was absolutely lovely - made us feel welcome without making promises she couldn't keep. we wandered around to the bar to have a drink in the hope someone would soon be finishing up their dinner. the bar was near empty, save for about twenty people. but what a bar! the design was a delight to behold, not seen enough in sydney.it wasn't more...

We went here with a couple of foodie friends as we'd all been wanting to try this place out. In Barangaroo, enter from the street, go up a level and find yourselves opening onto the foyer of the restaurant where you're met with hanging meats and the smokey smell that defines the foods you're going to be met with. The place was absolutely pumped with people. A bar stocked with so many types of liquor and people meeting for drinks as well as a number of tables for dinner. It has a sophisticated, yet casual vibe to it. We ordered the tartare beef to start which was presented beautifully and seasoned nicely. We got a meat dish that was a whole side of meat cut into slices, medium rare with bone...
This place offers upscale American-style dishes, what I think of as comfort food: slow-cooked beef brisket and to-die-for pulled pork, paired with crispy fries and creamy mac & cheese. Yum! But on top of that, they've also got fresh oysters and ceviche - their menu is perfect. The atmosphere is light and bright: it looks like you've stepped into a classy joint in New Orleans with plenty of hanging plants to keep it cheery. The restaurant sits in the tallest Barangaroo tower and has a view of the harbour. When the weather is nice, they open up the windows in the bar for some fresh air. The bar side is very popular after work, so if you want to get a table, be sure to go early. It's a big bar...
We had heard good reports about Nola and decided to try it for ourselves. Situated at the pointy end of Barangaroo Wharf (the northern end) it has views over the waterfront. It is one level up, so a quick trip in the lift brings you right into the restaurant's reception. We were met with welcoming smiles despite not having made a booking, as it was mid week and at lunchtime. All was well and we had judged it correctly, because it's a fairly big place and we were close to midday, before the numbers arrived. We were given a table with a view over the water and it was comfortable. The staff were very attentive, the food and drinks were excellent, although the drinks were on the expensive side.Th... Reserva una mesa ahora
An excellent southern style food restaurant with the added bonus of a separate stylish cocktail lounge area. Not perfect. There could be wait staff in the cocktail area rather than pub style ordering at the bar, and the superb cocktails bar itself is not complemented aesthetically by the seating area adjacent.Food particularly entrees of beef tartare, scallop and bone marrow and whole smoked chicken were very original and tasty. Not greatly impressed with the 60 day bourbon marinated $150 kg rib eye as its intended flavour was overwhelmed by a bland accompanying sauce with a sloppy mash beneath the quality meat served. Pork knuckle slightly dry but good eating with accompanying sauces.Overall...
Amazing! Beautiful restaurant fit out up in one of the many new towers of barangaroo. Go hungry though, as its a meat feast! Smoked meats, mash, mac and cheese... Yummy wine. We found the service to be prompt, but quite quick. Note to make sure you have a break between courses. It also has its own bar area, which often has a live band. It is very loud, so go with friends or family that have decent hearing!! Will definitely visit again. P. S it's hard to find, looks like your entering an apartment block entrance.
What a great place! Decided to come here for a girls night and the food was amazing! Atmosphere was lively with cosy décor, there was a live band playing too.Menu is quiet extensive but its a smokehouse, so you MUST try the meat! Can't wait to come back here for lunch for the beautiful view
We came here last night for dinner and drinks, really cool atmosphere around the bar area and delicious cocktails (go for the Rue Royal it was my fave)Food was great for sharing, we had the pork knuckle plus smoe brisket and sides and was perfectly cooked. Reserva una mesa ahora
What a venue! What a night! Just want to thank Robert and the team for a great night out. Everything was spot on from the cocktails, to the great meals, and the attentive staff. We'll certainly be back as a group for many more work functions.Cheers

"I was satisfied with the food. Burgers are between $14.90 and $15.90. The drinks are more expensive than other places, and the free Wi-Fi is slow and stops working intermittently."
