I have been getting takeout from the Ooralea Store about once a month for the past four years. The service and food have been generally good, but my last visit on 22/02/2019 was disappointing. I ordered four spring rolls, but when I got home, there were no spring rolls in the bag. My wife picked up the order while we were grocery shopping, and she assumed the paper bag inside contained the spring rolls. However, it actually held the pork from her sweet and sour pork order. They had put all the pork bites in a paper bag, didn't provide any forks, and the sauce was in a plastic container. We couldn't eat it in the car, and they didn't give us the spring rolls. I was horrified to be abused by a staff member at the Parkside Plaza store when ordering sushi. After politely asking whether sushi could be made upon request, I was verbally abused with disgusting language. The staff member screamed profanities and insulted my appearance. This was reported to both centre management and the owner of the store. Despite being assured that this staff member would be stood down, this has not occurred and I remain frightened to visit this shopping centre on my own due to the unprovoked language and anger directed towards me.
I have been a regular customer at this restaurant for many years, always enjoying the sweet and sour pork on steamed rice with the sauce on the side. However, when I tried to order my usual dish tonight, I was told that they no longer offer it that way. I was disappointed and asked to speak to someone else, but the service I received from the young Mackay high student on the phone and the lady with glasses was very unsatisfactory. I have decided not to return to this restaurant and will be filing a formal complaint with the manager.
I grabbed a few sushi rolls for lunch; teriyaki chicken, salmon and avocado and tuna. They were average (literally, as in they were what I expected and were neither bad or fantastic). For the three rolls and a drink I paid around twelve dollars; great value for a quick lunch.The staff were attentive but I was not in the shop long to get a proper impression. Would definitely recommend for anyone who is in the area and looking for a sushi fix.They also sold noodles and other asian cuisine so I might make a return visit.

Working in Mackay for the week and I wanted a change from my usual meals in my unit.I had the Satay Chicken noodles and a couple of steamed dim sims. The food was very tasty and the dim sims tasted great. If there was one complaint, then I would have liked to have seen more satay sauce on the meal, but besides this, it was a very nice meal.The address is handy to the CQUniversity campus at Ooralea - no more than five minutes at the most and can be walked in about 15-20 mins.
Went to this so called restaurant for a meal and found myself and partner threatened by a very rude man that has to have the worst customer service skills anyone could ever cross. All we asked was for him to make some fresh sushi, definitely not a place to go unless you’re ready to be treated like a shoemaker in a Chinese sweat shop. Absolutely terrible.
The guy serving me just now at Parkside plaza was very rude. No manners and when I politely said “you should use manners” he said do you want food or manners, I felt like reaching across the counter and throat punching the clown. Simply don’t go here. They don’t value your custom or your family.
Popped in to get some sushi rolls for lunch and ordered salmon and avocado rolls. I opened the packet once I had driven home and the rolls were so old and tasted awful! Had to throw them in the bin. Very disappointing to have to throw $6 in the bin.

This is pretty good sushi tbh. Service was fairly incredible. Fast service, and even better sushi. I like the tuna avocado and the chicken avocado. Best thing there is probably the raspberry fanta.
