Not bad for an old diner, but it 's definitely going to eventually be bought out because I think only nostalgic older Castro Valley residents enjoy this place. Give it another 20 years at best.I know that the morning country potatoes are cooked with leftover baked potatoes from the night before for efficiency and I have no issue with that, but I would 've liked them made crispy. The ones my mom and I got were very soft, with hardly any browning as if they were reheated on the pan for less than 30 seconds and made it obvious they were from the night before.I ordered the salmon Benedict and my mom was able to smell the fishy smell as soon as the server put it down...(not a good sign for fish p...
This is a great spot for families! The service is friendly, and the menu offers delicious, hearty meals. It's an excellent place for breakfast, with generous portions at reasonable prices. Plus, there's parking available on-site. There are limited vegetarian options, but they are offered. The restaurant is wheelchair accessible, with everything located on the first floor without any steps.
As you like it diner style. I'm really pleased with how you can basically have the American breakfast you probably free up with. Country fried chicken steak and gravy has been my favorite growing and glad to have a place to get some.They say fluffy pancakes and did we get FLUFFY PANCAKES. I was pretty happy.I really enjoy the vinyl around the diner walls. It gives the place character.
Classic comfort food. Dishes like liver and onions and other nostalgic favorites that you might think are from a bygone era are still being served here with warmth. The restaurant has a loyal crowd, and you’ll notice many familiar faces—often with gray hair and walkers. The food is delicious and expertly prepared. I definitely plan to return!

Had the French dip my friend had tuna melt....meat in French dip was grissly and didnt seem really fresh.. my friend said her tuna melt was really fishy french fries were okay...the place was clean. We ended up going to this place because denicas had a long wait...ill wait at denica s next time..hard pass on normans for me...
Overall, I give it 5 stars because it's one of the last of its kind! The relaxed 50s atmosphere is delightful. The food is typical diner fare, but it’s a great place to hang out. A perfect spot to unwind!
