Their renovation looks really beautiful! Although they kept the creepy Russian statues near the booth tables, it feels as if they executed making their restaurant look modern while still keeping the Russian heritage in the dining hall. Their new menu has photos of all of their dishes which I enjoyed. But there is no drink list which is a bit sad. Our server that was working there only a few days memorized the entire vodka list when asked though which was very cool to me. Our table came with a huge pitcher of water, ice, and sliced up lemons which was refreshing. We ordered double Vodka shots $20 each) for the table, I think it was the Jewel of Russia line it was very full bodied and had some...

There isn't many Russian restaurant in Sacramento and I've been eyeing the Firebird for a very long time. Tonight I finally get to be a patron now that we are able to dine-in at restaurants again. First, the decor is very unique and one of a kind. I got a sense this is an authentic and homey Russian restaurant the moment I walked in. We had a reservation and was seated very quickly. Throughout the night the staff were very attentive and super nice, giving me a cozy family feeling. They are very safe in response to COVID-19. There were touch-less hand sanitizers throughout the restaurant and every table had its own full bottle of hand sanitizer as well. As a plus, the bathrooms were spotless,...

Tried this place out today for a late lunch. Wasn't busy so got seated right away. They brought out some slices of bread with butter. We ordered our drinks, and our food which was the beed stew in a clay pot for the hubby and mine was the pork schnitzel with mashed potatoes and salad. My dish was very big enough for me to split half my pork with my husband. It was very juicy and had good flavor. The mash potatoes we alright a bit on the dry side. The salad was good and went well with the pork. My husband's dish looked small but was very rich and hearty with lots of meat. Cheese and potatoes. Great flavor!!! Just no broth in it Both dishes left us feeling full and had alot of flavorful. For t...

We started with the caviar appetizer, which was simple but a unique experience. The caviar paired wonderfully with the crepe and boiled egg. For the main course, we ordered the pork stew, and the flavor was excellent. It was served with some wonderfully crispy, soft naan bread that complemented the dish perfectly. I can't remember the name of my dish, but I have a picture of it! It was really good as well! I also tried a kompot drink, which I was unfamiliar with, but after a quick Google search, I decided to give it a shot. I’m glad I did because it was refreshing and not overly sweet, especially compared to canned pineapple. Overall, I really enjoyed both dishes! Reserva una mesa ahora

Not reviewed on food. This review is on their business practice. We were a party of five from Southern California looking for a good Russian restaurant in Sacramento to introduce beef stroganoff. We use restaurant.com to find new restaurants and found the Firebird Russian restaurant. We called to make reservations for Sunday, January 16, 2022. The receptionist/reservationist said that they don 't take the restaurant.com certificates, and offered no reason why. Now, normally we wouldn 't complain. But why keep the restaurant.com certificates online for customers to use?

Drove all the way here from Davis in search of some tasty beef stroganoff but was very disappointed. Stroganoff was extremely bland and meat was flavorless. Stewed lamb was very small and contained mostly potatoes. The only saving grace was the pork shnitzel which was actually very crispy and flavorful. The interior has very fun decorations but screaming kids ruined the ambiance during our visit. Would not recommend this if you are searching for beef stroganoff.

Great kitchen, improved design, nice cultural representation and delicious Russian cuisine which gets better with time. A place to go for real experience. Service may need some attention to the customer, however still on relevant level for the stars given. Would highly encourage to increase weekend lunch menu selection for out of town costumers. Overall, THANK YOU! Solid 4 stars.

This restaurant is still around, but it has a new name: Noroc. It's basically the same (fantastic) experience. For more details, check out my previous review. I’ll be adding new reviews on their new page.
