Took our son and his family out to eat. Buffet is a good way to control costs. None of us had tried this eatery, and the menu seemed good. We arrived about 5 p.m. It was partially filled, and everything appeared clean. We were seated at once and the boys ordered pop; the rest of us, water. The buffet was $15.99 for adults, $13.99 for seniors, $7.99 for the 9-year-old, and $1.99 for the 5-year-old. The buffet was well-stocked and had a good variety. The shrimp were delicious; the salmon fillets too dry (tasted like yesterday's meal!); calamari was decent; the fake scallops were tasty, but clearly not the real thing; the crab (surimi) salad was very good. We were seated quickly and our waitress encouraged us to start. The salad / sushi bar has fresh, pasta and mixed salads. You can start your meal with one of two soups, and spring rolls or egg rolls. The hot offerings included several kinds of chicken (lemon chicken my favourite), beef with vegetables, bacon, ribs, sausages etc. There are french fries, onion rings, regular potatoes, and other Canadian style foods as well. The food is kept well stocked and is hot. Staff keep the buffet area tidy and plates etc in place. The dessert bar includes a variety of cakes, cookies, coffeecake, ice cream choices as well as puddings, fruit and jello.
This buffet restaurant looks very clean and modern. As I had never been before, I decided to order various items for take out to try at home. The staff was very pleasant but the food was atrocious. Everything went in the garbage(compost). It was probably the worst Chinese food ever. I will never return. It's really a shame as it seems I'll need to drive 45 minutes into Kingston to go to the Mandarin unless I can find another Chinese restaurant that is closer. Extremely disappointing.
Stopped by to see how they are faring after a long absence. Didn't find them improved at all. Found some of the food sitting in the warming area dry and hard like a rock. Found other items over steamed. Gone are the steaming baskets with the pot stickers and pork buns. Many more 'English' food on the menu than in the past. Tried the onion rings - dried out completely no flavor.
every time I go to this restaurant the food is amazing and the staff are great, but there is also the same menu items on, every time I go. they could use a little different selections throughout the week so that there are more options at different days during the week, but otherwise a great restaurant and environment overall
We've been here on numerous occasions in the past but it has been a while since our ladt visit. We were prompltly seated by a pleasanr greeter.The fare hasn't changed musc but, in our opinion it's the best value in the atea. We could have filled up pn the various shrimp items, but had to leave room for desert.
This Buffett should not be able to serve food.There service is horrible. There food is inedible.When you discuss your matter with management they do nothing.I have been here twice in several years. And last time my whole family got severely ill.DO NOT EAT HERE.They don't deserve your money!
