I hiked over the Bürgenstock on a miserably wet day in the Spring of 2017 and thought I would never reach Gasthaus Obermatt.. At one point I was even chased by a herd of cows! Not kidding... We heard about this restaurant from a friend so we asked our hotel if they would book us a table for 8. They called the Restsurant and they said they would pick is up at 6.30 from the pier next to our hotel. Punctually we were picked up and ferried to this delightful place and made to feel most welcome on arrival with cocktails. The food was delicious. Everything has to come by boat we paid SwissFr 85 per head including the trip there and back, not bad actually. Definitely worth going. Als wir am Samstag ins Obermatt Nachtessen gehen wollten, wurden wir vom Beizer auf dem Weg zum Tisch richtiggehend zurechtgewiesen. Wir wurden in einem Ton über die Reservierungspflicht belehrt wie ich es seit der Grundschule nicht mehr erlebt habe. Wir sind dann vom Tisch direkt wieder zum Boot und haben unser Geld in einem anderen Restaurant liegen gelassen. Ich hoffe der Beizer geht bald in Pension und überlässt die wunderschöne Location einem Gastgeber der den Namen auch verdient.
