"We had a very delicious 4-course Thanksgiving meal at this place. Everything tasted very good! We loved our time here. Try the outdoor seats as it overlooks the salt dust with the birds!"

As patron of the Old Oyster Factory since my childhood in the 90s, I have spent many loving memories of good meals with family. Just this last week I had the opportunity to dinate there with my own family and unfortunately my nostalgia of good meals did not match my current day experience. We had lunch last week, and the place was practically empty. That was my first red flag. When a party of seven with an empty restaurant I expected service to be fast, but the kitchen was very slow, and the quality of the food we received was disappointing to say the least. I ordered the fish-shrimp tacos for lunch. Not only was there a crowd of cabbage on my tacos that made it hard to find or sample seafoo...

Tons of open tables, but the hostess let us wait for nothing that made no sense and they were not professional about what EASILY had smoothed this bad interaction/first impression about. After sitting, our server was sub par. We asked for recommendations on oysters (high sales point missed), but it was not too enthusiastic to do so. We ordered 2 dozen mixed and they were delicious and fresh. The grouper was amazing, the Cajun Pasta has a ton of shrimps and mix-ins that was great, can?t go wrong with the fried seafood plate. The only bad duck was the wide brook cioppino. It was very salty.

This is a good restaurant with an even better view of the Lowlands of South Carolina. I would recommend trying their oysters to try the crab cake as a duck, and the key lime cake as a dessert. The restaurant has many parking spaces and a beautiful gift shop on the way out. It can be a little tourist trap. And that's why it's usually very busy with many tourists, like myself. Remember when you look at this restaurant and consider a reservation if present.

Excellent selection of fresh delicious seafood. Alicia, our server was great and took fantastic care of us! We also had a beautiful view of the marsh and waterway. We had lunch there the day before and it was also excellent.
