I don't like to leave bad reviews of small business. But at the same time, the customers are spending their hard earned money and deserve to get good food for their money. Went here about a month ago with my wife. The outdoor dining area was nice, servers nice, unfortunately the food was really really bad. I ordered the special, it was the lamb burger, with side of green bean salad. My wife got a salad. The burger was bad. The bun was something from 99 cent store. Meat like warm. Dry. The green beans literally a can of green beans dumped into a bowl, cold, mixed with ketchup like sauce. Not edible. The salad was also bad. The Greek sauce was not good. Tasted like it was a weird mix of ranch...
I stumbled upon this restaurant while in the area for an appointment and decided to give it a try. I didn't have a chance to experience the service as I ordered my meal to go, but the restaurant seemed to have ample indoor and outdoor seating. I couldn't confirm if it's pet friendly though. I opted for a simple chicken plate, which consisted of grilled chicken tenders. The chicken was decent, similar to how I make it at home. The hummus was a bit tangy, but the pita bread and green sauce on the chicken were tasty. Personally, I felt that the plate was a bit overpriced at $25 and wouldn't necessarily return for it, but I would be willing to try other menu items instead.
The wait time for lunch was quite long, but the food was definitely worth it. Unfortunately, I had to rush out and couldn't finish my meal due to time constraints, but I am excited to enjoy the leftovers later. The lamb was full of flavor and the vegetables and hummus were delicious. Each plate/dish cost around $20, but it was well worth the price. Next time, I will order ahead so that I can fully enjoy my meal without feeling rushed. There is ample parking available in the lot, as well as plenty of seating options both inside and outside. Most tables accommodate 2 or 4 people, with a few larger options available.
I have visited The Olive Pit several times and have never been disappointed with the food. My most recent visit was just as fantastic! The parking lot is small, but I enjoy the cozy atmosphere of the restaurant when dining in. I have never had to wait for a table unless it's during peak dinner times on the weekend. My favorite dish is the lamb gyro plate, and I always get the roasted mushrooms as a side. Their garlic fries are also delicious! A great addition is that tzatziki now comes with the meat plates, so I don't have to use up one of my sides for it. I will definitely be returning to The Olive Pit again! Reserva una mesa ahora
This is recommended by a friend who took their family there for a special occasion. I'm so glad that she recommended it because this is delicious food for being such a tiny place. There are lots of choices of hummus and we chose one mild one spicy and one flavorful. Everyone at the table loved at least one of them. Everyone was pleased with their food! We will definitely be back. I am only taking away one star because we were overcharged for a few things on our bill besides an item that we didn't even order. The waitress seemed very bothered by us asking for it to be corrected.
I test every new Mediterranean place by their humus. So I ordered a a side of humus to go, which comes with pita bread. Shockingly, for $8, I got an amount of humus the size of a ketchup container from a fast food burger joint, with no lid and not even filled. It comes with some anorexic pita bread. The amount of humus didn't even cover two small pieces of pita. The humus itself was overly lemony with a bitter taste. Well, at least I can wipe this place off my list of Mediterranean restaurants. Yuck.
I was helped at the register today by Eric. He heard it was my birthday and surprised me with some delicious baklava. BIG THANKS. I really like this place! The food is super fresh, which is evident by the perfectly ripe tomatoes and lettuce. On my last visit I enjoyed the chicken wrap with a side of hummus, which was delicious. They have inside and outside seating, which is ideal in CA where the weather is generally nice. I continue to go back.
amazingly best describes the kabobs plate. years ago they reduced the proportion or size to half a bite. This week I rediscovered the kabobs size are back to what they granted years ago price is higher no problem that we understand that it is putin's fault. but dare that the current kabob plate with grill veggies was amazingly delicious. the meat portions on the kabobs are back. years ago they reduced the size drastically to the bite size of the child. They're back now, probably for competition. if you know that you know this is amazing. Today I was hungry chicken steak cabbage with rice and grill viggaries....soo good. Barbecue is better than salate for me, if you weren't here, I miss you.
