Yes it's in a 1980s looking brick strip mall. The Ambiance is okay inside. Neither of those things matter at all because from the minute you sit down at your table the service is impeccable and the food is outstanding. Full disclosure I'm the only person in my family with a seafood allergy and not only does Onsen work around that, but they have never served me a single item that's triggered and allergic reaction which I cannot say for other restaurants. This speaks to their cleaning as well as food maintenance and looking out for cross-contamination Personal favorite for me has always been the fried sweet potato roll. We've been regulars at this restaurant for years and have always loved their sushi, which was remarkable for a small local spot. However, about six weeks ago, the staff changed, and unfortunately, so did the quality of the sushi. We gave it three chances, hoping it would improve, but after our last visit, where we ended up throwing away half our order, we've officially decided to stop going to Onsen. The sushi is often warm, soft, and lacks a fresh taste. The quality just isn't what it used to be. It's really disappointing to lose this place, especially since we used to enjoy their sushi three out of every four Fridays. Now we need to find a new favorite.

The food was excellent! In fact, it might be the best tempura I've ever tasted. The batter is perfectly crispy and light, while the shrimp and vegetables are moist and tender. The bento boxes are incredibly satisfying as well. I'm definitely planning to return with friends to sample their sushi! Regardless of the food, I would give this place five stars just for their hospitality and service. The staff was incredibly kind to our table and greeted every new customer with a genuine smile. It really makes you feel like you're returning to a restaurant you’ve been visiting for years!

Forget the ambiance; the food steals the show at Onsen! I've been a regular for about three years, and it has never let me down. Most recently, we enjoyed an exceptional selection of sashimi, including bluefin toro, king salmon, scallop, and red clam, as well as sushi featuring smoked eel, salmon, ahi, and snapper.
