So I learned something about myself. I don't like raw food. I went with my friend who loves it and he said it was excellent. I love the fact that it was a new experience. The waitress was lovely. I tried some kind of Asian beer and a martini. I didn't like the martini. The seaweed salad was good. I also liked the fried sushi. All the sushi I choose in my main dish were cooked. The salad was all raw I couldn't finish it but my friend found pleasure in helping me. The atmosphere is cosy and family or couple oriented plus u can see the cooks making ur meal. Another thing I liked was the fact that the waitress and the cooks kept us updated on how long your meals will be.
We've been regulars at this restaurant for years and have always loved their sushi, which was remarkable for a small local spot. However, about six weeks ago, the staff changed, and unfortunately, so did the quality of the sushi. We gave it three chances, hoping it would improve, but after our last visit, where we ended up throwing away half our order, we've officially decided to stop going to Onsen. The sushi is often warm, soft, and lacks a fresh taste. The quality just isn't what it used to be. It's really disappointing to lose this place, especially since we used to enjoy their sushi three out of every four Fridays. Now we need to find a new favorite.
The food here is incredible, and the portion sizes are generous, all at slightly better prices than other places. When it comes to value, this spot is truly the best! I truly believe they serve the best sushi I’ve ever had. There are only a few places that come close in terms of taste, but their prices are significantly higher. The staff is also exceptionally friendly, always engaging in conversation and offering samples when you dine in. I can’t say enough good things about this restaurant. Definitely give it a try!
I can't believe I've been a customer here for so long and haven't written a review yet. Onsen has been my go-to sushi spot for years. If you're new to the area and looking for a great sushi place, this is some of the best you'll find on this part of Long Island—you absolutely have to try it. The food here is crafted with care; the chefs work like artists and truly take their craft seriously. The service is excellent, the staff is always friendly, and dining here is always a delightful experience.

Came highly recommended. Though the first time I went to grab some take out the strip mall it is in looked a little suspect, it turns out Onsen easily is the best sushi I have come across on the south shore since I started eating sushi 4 years ago. They are always friendly, give you a warm welcome and sometimes surprise you with something super delicious when you?re dining in. I go there for take out and to sit and eat. Place is amazing. Make sure you try the Joey Roll and Crazy Tuna roll!!
We placed a delivery order through the restaurant's website on my phone, which was incredibly easy. I opted for the lunch special that included two spicy tuna rolls, and they were delicious. The salad portion was quite small, but the miso soup was enjoyable. My wife ordered the pad Thai, and she found it to be excellent. Overall, we had a delightful experience with the food being very satisfying. We will definitely order from them again!
Excellent fish and quality! Stopped by for a quick lunch on a Monday afternoon and was surprised to find some of the best sushi in Suffolk. Staff were attentive and helpful, and even provided a free ?martini salad? appetizer also very delicious! 10/10 would eat here again.
Went last night and I've never seen them so busy [Thanks Columbus! . The food was outstanding as usual, but I prefer it less busy so I can interact with the chef who is not just a brilliant artist, but also great to kid around with. By far, our favorite sushi spot.

Best sushi on Long Island hands down. Everyone inside is always so kind and the fish is so fresh and delicious. Evetything we have ordered we have LOVED!
