I decided to visit this restaurant after reading reviews on Yelp. I arrived about an hour before closing and ordered the whole fried fish and fries. Overall, it was a decent meal, complemented by good service, but nothing stood out as particularly remarkable or worthy of rave reviews. The food arrived fairly quickly, and while the flavor was okay, it didn’t leave a lasting impression. I think I would need to return for a more thorough evaluation, as I felt a bit rushed given the impending closing time at 8 PM. The ambiance was reflective of a cozy, small-town Mexican seafood restaurant with outdoor seating. It's definitely a spot worth trying to get a better feel for it.

I recently dined at this restaurant for lunch and had a mixed experience. The food, although decent, only received a mediocre rating of 3 out of 5. However, the service was outstanding, earning a perfect score of 5. The atmosphere was also delightful, with a vibrant and inviting setting, which also merited a 5.
If you decide to visit, I would recommend trying the Chips and Salsa as well as the Appetizer Sampler Platter. Overall, while the food could improve, the exceptional service and enjoyable atmosphere make it worth a visit.
Today I visited this restaurant and was displeased to find that they automatically charged 20% in gratuity for everyone at my table without asking beforehand. What a shabby way to run a restaurant! The owner really needs to address this issue or consider letting the person in charge go.
"I noticed a change in the chefs at 7 Mares, and unfortunately, it reflected in my meal. Since I was hungry, I ended up having just two shrimp, a crab leg, and some octopus, and I must say, the quality was really disappointing."
