Disappointing Experience on a Special Occasion. I recently dined at Paul Martin to celebrate my wife’s birthday and our wedding anniversary, but unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. From the moment we checked in, the hostess didn’t make us feel welcome. Our server forgot our appetizer, and it wasn’t brought to us until the main course had arrived. We ordered seasoned fries that were overly salty. After requesting a replacement, the server brought regular fries, but still charged us more than the seasoned fries. In the past, I had a not-so-pleasant experience at Paul Martins due to poor service and overpriced food, and thus, I hadn't visited in eight years. Recently, I decided to give it another try with my friends during happy hour. However, the bar area was full, and when you asked if you could bring your drinks to your table, you were told that wasn't allowed. Frustrated, I recalled my previous negative experience. However, the manager, Michael, intervened and offered me and my friends one drink at a happy hour price. Additionally, he extended the same offer to your other friends upon their arrival. There is nothing remarkable about this restaurant. The atmosphere is lacking, feeling more like a cafeteria. The food was decent but not exceptional, resulting in being overpriced. The service was also acceptable but nothing to write home about.
