Be prepared for some good old fashion love from the bossman himself when you come eat here. He is quite hands-on and likes to mingle with his diners. As to the food, there is no awkward adaptation to local tastebuds, just simple straight forward authentic home cooked style Nyonya food. Some dishes are quite exxy, some more reasonably priced. Standouts: Otak-otak (spiced fish paste wrapped in banana leaves) 4.5/5, each stick is quite small though, wish they were more spicy hot.Spicy dry har mee (prawn noodle) 4.5/5, thinly sliced pork belly, prawns, fish cakes, kangkong (water spinach), sprouts, hokkien noodles on top of the gravy made from all things prawn/shrimp, the way it should be. Chay...

It is obvious that the owner, Sam, is passionate about his restaurant and about serving authentic, home-style Peranakan food. Everybody gets the same, warm welcome. The ngor hiang and belachan chicken wings were a very good introduction to our main dishes of ayam buah keluak and kangkong belachan eaten with white rice, achar and sambal belachan. Lobster picks were provided so that we could ease out the inside of the buah keluak, quite an experience!Coconut water, lime juice, teh tarik and durian pudding completed a very satisfying and enjoyable meal.Based on the number of dishes we ordered, this meal was pricey but there was no stinting on ingredients and it was genuine Peranakan food, and t...

We didn't really enjoy our meal here, but I think it probably didn't help we were a bit short on time. When what arrived on our table wasn't at all what we thought (looks or taste) we didn't really have the time to experience it like it probably should have been. If nonya cuisine is a new thing to you like it completely was to us, don't rush in expecting a quick bite before your movie! Take the time and enjoy it and enjoy the owners' very evident passion for their food.

7 of us ate Sunday lunch here -- absolutely delicious. We stuffed ourselves for 30 bucks a head. I believe this is a neglected gem -- if it wasn't located on the dreadful Parramatta Road there would be a queue out the door. Plus, the decor is very Peranakan as well, which made for a good total experience. Don't miss the tiles on the wall, and the hallway leading to the toilets. The food is spicy without being too hot. If you like exotica, this is the place Reserva una mesa ahora

We were so glad to come here . This is an authentic Peranakan Malaysian /Singaporean food . Ordered Ikan Sambal it tasted like heaven was not expecting to get this taste in Sydney . The Durian pudding was so good . I will definitely come back . Thank you Sam and your family for the awesome food. Will post some photo but I was too excited and ate it halfway through took photo ❤️❤️❤️

Could be the only nonya in Sydney, not the best location but I did like my experience but at the same time I was expecting more. If you want to try something different you must try the dish where you dig out the truffle like substance from a nut the size of a walnut and it's like a intense black bean taste, it's called AYAM BUAH KELUAK. Worth a try!

This was the first time that I had tried Nonya cuisine and my first visit to Peranakan Place. Will definitely go back. The food is very different from your average Chinese or Malay. Wonderful subtle spices. Lovely decor and the service was excellent.

My wife and I sadly moved to Queensland but we visited last weekend for our daughter's wedding and while in town made sure we caught up with some Singaporean and Malaysian friends for another fantastic Singaporean feast. Reserva una mesa ahora
