We were staying in Kayserberg longer than we thought as the Ministero Della Salute saw fit to order 15 day quarantine for UK travellers the day before we were to arrive in Italy making our holiday there untenable. We had pizzas as a takeout which were stunning for the price, while we were waiting for the pizzas (the place was packed! we had a beer. The pizzas arrived and we tried to pay for our beers but they just waved us away saying it was on the house! We were chuffed so a week later we visited the restaurant for an evening meal. Really good quality food. I had a risotto, and it was cooked perfectly. Very reasonably priced too. I would recommend you book as they are always busy seemingly....
Just before Kaysersberg is passed on your way into the ‘mountains’ we found a surprisingly good Italian Pizzaria. We felt welcome although we didn’t have a reservation but got seated right away! Polite English speaking service. We ordered two pizzas, a recommended red wine to follow and a bottle of water! 43 Euro’s! Dead cheap taking the quality of the meal into consideration! Nice and clean restaurant! Pizzeria Piccola Italia comes with our recommendations!
We wanted to go there with 2 families including 4 kids and waited in front of the restaurant until it opened. They then told us that the place would be full because everything was reserved. But there was no other guest than us so it was really clear they simply didn‘t want us. Even more clear as they reacted really unfriendly.
Essentially, a pizza joint. Good value for money. Food was quite voluminous and rather tasty. It’s a bit of a drive out of town (likely too far for most to walk) and the ambience was “neo-cavernous” but the service was helpful and earnest. It was “alright”, all things considered.
