We love Players at work, our important all day meetings involve the ritual of projecting their online menu on the wall (in one our conference rooms) and everyone gets to order while someone navigates the webpage on their lap top. A number of us get their salads each and every time. For me, I love their sweet potato fries which are crinkly. I've enjoyed the cheeseburger, turkey burger, chicken (my favorite with Swiss cheese), tuna and yes I've also ordered their salads. We've catered for our holiday lunch and their service has always been prompt. My co worker who lives in Highland Park suggested ordering from here a number of years ago and the rest is history. This was our first visit to this restaurant since Covid. We were not aware that there was a change in ownership but we found this to be a very welcome change. The restaurant was in desperate need of a renovation and the new owners have done a very nice job updating the interior. It is light and airy instead of dark and dinghy. They have most of the items from the former menu and the same recipes, as well as some new items. We had the epic kale salad, equally delicious as before, and the salmon, which was wonderful. They also pour a very nice cocktail at a respectable price. Service was great! Definitely worth a visit!
First time in since new owners....very disappointing! The prices are outrageous for a strip mall restaurant, $10 for a glass of wine? 10.50 for Canadian Club and Ginger? $28 for a skirt steak? And oh....tonight was A slab of rib special for $23, however, the menu states no sharing ? What happens if I share some with my wife? Anyhow, stale old bagel chips instead of fresh bread? Used to be a great atmosphere, better options nearby. Might be tough to return.....
It's a Thursday night, snowing, my wife suggests we go to Players Grill for their Thursday night special no argument sounds good to me! $7.99 for a 1/2lb burger fries. The best deal onn the North Shore. Our burgers were prepared to perfection, hot, Med rare, juicy and flavorful. Jerry, the owner always stops by our table for a quick check and chat. We highly recommend Players Grill for their variety and high quality food!

I had the barbecue chicken with baked potato and a salad with the fresh made in house ranch dressing. The barbecue sauce was great and the chicken was cooked to perfection. The baked potato was huge and the salad dressing was delicious. The service was excellent, every time my drink got low there was a fresh one in front of me, watching the Cubs game while dining was enjoyable. 5 stars for the food and service!
My wife and I have been ordering from Players once a month since 2017. I always order a full slab of ribs. However, on my last two orders, the ribs were severely overcooked. This was disappointing given the price we pay. Since it happened twice, we suspect something may have changed at the restaurant, so we have decided to take a break from ordering from them for now.
Great food, friendly staff, and lots of cool sports memorabilia. I recommend the HP burger a juicy patty with blue cheese, avocado, and bacon, but honestly everyone else's dishes looked amazing too. Came with a very generously sized side of fries as well. Will definitely be coming more often!
This restaurant is a fantastic spot in the neighborhood for both lunch and dinner! The drinks were fantastic and the onion strings are a definite must-try. Additionally, parking was easy to find. While they do offer delivery, it's more enjoyable to dine in at the restaurant.

The restaurant had a lovely and calming ambiance, and the food was excellent! Our group of seven ordered a variety of entrees, all of which came in large portions with nice presentation. We all agreed that this place is a hidden treasure.
