I'm not sure what the hype is or how this place is always packed (other than it being small), maybe it's the sushi but for sure it can't be the ramen. I ordered the Tonkotsu and it was disappointing. It had very little flavor, the noodles were undercooked and you only get half an egg where at other places you get a whole egg. I didn't even bother to try and finish it because it was really bland and why eat something that tastes like nothing. The color off the broth was a little weird as well which made me also not to eat it, I'm assuming the black garlic oil is what turned it a sickly gray color. I waited about 35 minutes for something I picked at and threw away, don't make the same mistake...
We ordered-Tonkotsu ramen-Mango Tango Sushi Roll-Three Piece TakoyakiWhen I visit a new restaurant, I always try the most basic ramen. We added takoyaki to the tonkotsu ramen set and it was so delicious. The broth of the ramen is deep and rich, and the noodles are properly cooked. There are many sushi roll options, so you can eat your favorite sushi roll with ramen. I recommend the Mango Tango that I picked. The seats in the restaurant are comfortable and the staff are very friendly. Next time I will try different sushi rolls and spicy ramen.
I visit Ramen Hajime often because they offer both ramen and sushi, so everyone in our group can enjoy exactly what they’re craving. Their food is genuinely delicious. The tonkotsu ramen is rich but not overpowering, and the sushi rolls are tasty. Recently, they’ve added new items like salmon belly sushi and toro sushi, which are both affordable and flavorful. I’ve become a regular customer and highly recommend this place.
The ramen at Ramen Hajime is delicious, but their sides and sushi don't quite measure up. I would definitely stick to the ramen. The customer service is inconsistent, and the wait times can be long, so I wouldn't recommend it if you're in a hurry. During my recent visit, they even forgot my sushi roll until I brought it to their attention.

My food was good but the service was lacking. Let me just say by the time they checked on us it was time to go. One napkin through the whole lunch, no sugar for my tea until it was cold already, when expressing concerns it was more of a back and forth! Never again!
I didn't try the ramen, but I was really disappointed with the bento combo I ordered. The karaage was bland and lacked flavor. I'm not sure what happened—maybe the marinade was off today?
Great cozy spot. The Tonkotsu ramen was excellent, with homemade noodles. The mackerel sushi and Alaska roll were also delicious. A pleasant dinner overall.
Good service, tasty food, ramen is very good and will want to come back to try others. The parking is easy and not too far off the 5 Freeway.
