Usually, Red Ribbon has good cakes and we always love their mango cake but one time, my dad bought a birthday cake called the Sans Rival cake to try something new. When we came home, we found out that we had spent $20 on a small biscuit cake which tasted really BAD. We tried to return it but they turned us away, which really shows that they don't care about their customers. Overall, a very disappointing experience...probably never going back again.
I was just visiting this city and fancied Sans Rival but the other Red Ribbon store sold out of this goodness so we decided to come here. Service is efficient, store is well-lit and clean. However, the only drawback: the texture of Sans Rival was like of cardboard. It tasted deliciously buttery but once we sunk our teeth into the pastry, it's tough. Hope you improve the storage to keep its crunch and freshness.
I was in the area and craving some delicious treats, so I decided to get Caramel bars, a mamon variety pack, and Arroz Caldo (since it was raining and I needed some hot soup). I was warned about the different packaging for the Arroz Caldo, but I didn't think it would be a big deal. Unfortunately, the biodegradable bowls weren't very sturdy, especially for takeout orders. Oh well, I still had to have it.
Needed a birthday cake last minute, and Red Ribbon was still open after 8pm. Staff were friendly and greeted us upon our arrival. Quite a few cakes to choose from, which made it hard to decide . . . Until we noticed the cake sampler (just under $40). Flavors mango, mocha choco crunch, ube, and Black Forest. All were good and not overly sweet. My fave continues to be the mocha choco crunch. I highly recommend trying the chicken empanada at this restaurant. The dough just melts in your mouth. The beef empanada is also good. This place is known for its selection of desserts and has friendly staff. Be sure to stop by.
This restaurant can be inconsistent. At times, the food is delicious, but other times you may encounter mold on your mamon. Make sure to carefully inspect your mamon and ensaymada before indulging.
Ordered almost $70 worth of merchandise And they charged me for 4 empanadas n didn't put it in my order. They rectified without incident
