I just don't understand why a classy hotel like the Holman's would ever allow themselves to have such a poor, substandard, class-less restaurant on their premises? OK, so you want an example of what I mean - I have to be fair, after all, in this review. How about 2 examples - Chicken Pappardelli and the Seafood Linguini. Ready for this? Just a few chicken slivers in the Papa - I should say shavings or scraps off a leftover. Why do this Redwater? Chicken is cheap - you should put huge chunks of white, breast meat in the pasta, not scrap the plate of a leftover. Shame on you. Then there's the Seafood Linguini - one lonely shrimp? Why? PEI is sup[posed to be seafood heaven - plenty of seafood just outside your door, but not on the plate? Ridiculous. What are you trying to prove - that you can screw the tourists? That you want to tarnish the reputation of Holman's? That you can take advantage of at the very tourists who provide you a living for your family and kids? That you're just an ignorant idiot thinking we wouldn't notice. You didn't fool me - you just ruined our Anniversary dinner - and lost a lot of customers - you probably don't give a damn, so go back to scraping the dishes of the leftovers - oh, and change the name to PappaDummy or Redwater Rustic Screwing. I'm off to Sims Corner for a real dining experience - maybe I'll go to Swiss Chalet for real great chicken, not scraps off a leftover. Shame on you !!

I dined alone. I had mussels to start and flatbread with pear and prosciutto. The food was good, but I found that both were somewhat bland for my palate. The flatbread was more doughy than crisp. The bread with molasses flavoured butter was great to start. There was a nice selection of wines by the glass and prices were reasonable.I had dessert, which was a butter tart with ice cream. Again, it was okay, but nothing special. Cappuccino seemed a bit expensive at $6.Service was relaxed and professional and I thought that prices were reasonable for the location and the type of restaurant.

I have reviewed RWG in the past and the food and service was fantastic (evening menu), so on our wedding anniversary we chose to dine there, expecting wonderful. The positive is that the service was great, staff lovely, atmosphere nice, app was good and one of our meals were great. Mine, not so much - it was undercooked (pork) and I hardly touched it. (I would suggest asking for it well done)? I will chalk it up to a busy evening or an off night in the kitchen as this was not our typical experience.
