Without a doubt, Renzo is a statement piece. It has a quaint charm to it as it's nestled in a neighborhood near downtown Charleston. In my opinion, it's a perfect first date spot. The small and intimate atmosphere is one that would surely impress a love interest. Matter of fact, there were multiple dates happening around us. If you're looking to step onto the town right after, this is not the place. There's not much on the street other then them and a catty corner speakeasy bar. You'll definitely have to uber to your next location. The menu is petite, which I personally did not mind. It made it simple to pick an appetizer and entree. Again, great for a first date when you want to be focusing...
If I am truly being honest, this review really should be a 3.5. That is to say, somewhere between it 's okay and I liked it . I will go back again to be fair and give them another chance, but not in any sort of rush to do so. The food and cocktails were pretty tasty, but portions were on the small side given prices. I had the street corn pizza and loved it, and we shared some unique pasta made with olive oil and honey. Odd sounding combo,but really good. Beware, there were only 5 tiny pieces though in the pasta. I'd say it's alright. Pizza was a little burnt on the crust and soggy in the middle. However, the ricotta gnudi was delicious, and I enjoyed the Caesar salad as well. I came in a group with 6 others with a reservation, and we weren't seated for 40 mins, but they did cover our first round of drinks as a result. Then they told us we could only order 3 pizzas and that they were out of the only gluten-free chicken dish option because of a broken appliance. They ended up being able to make us 5 pizzas AND the GF dish, but it's weird they told us they couldn't upfront, and then still did... anyway, I probably wouldn't go back.
I absolutely love Renzo. As their neighbor directly across the street, I can confidently say that not only is their food fantastic, but they are also great neighbors who care deeply about the area. I particularly enjoy their delicious Caesar salad, flavorful pizzas (they're all good no matter the flavor), and their grandma sauce is exceptional. The overall dining experience at Renzo is top-notch. They are reliable, laid-back, and committed to serving quality food in their community.

Super sweet spot! Amazing food! The Caesar salad and strawberries and cream budino we had were definitely interchangeable (what our server let us know). The Caesar salad had sunflower seeds in it that I never had in a Caesar salad, but I absolutely enjoyed it! I also strongly recommend the strawberries and cream budino (which is one of their desserts).
WOW!! Am I impressed!? Most definitely! We were originally referred by a bartender over at Stars Rooftop Grill for our visit at Charleston. . Margherita w/ pepperoni second pie was the Wrath of Kahan. Both had great flavor and environment was very welcoming. . Great service staff
Yeah, my name is Renzo. I'm not the owner. Just a tourist who saw a restaurant named after me. So I and the woman decided to try. We are very happy. The food is just fabulous. Try it. The stopper salad is so good. The whole food is fresh and delicious.
Wonderful service, reasonably priced drinks and food. Very authentic Italian cuisine, everything was delicious! They actually answer their phone and treat you like they want you there. Thank you!
