Restaurant WALDHAUS

Ich habe das Restaurant betreffend einer gewollten Reservierung am 30.12,2020 telefonisch kontaktiert.Auf meine Fragen wurde durch die Deutsche Mitarbeiterin nicht eingegangen.Sie hatte noch die Frechheit zu Fragen ob ich es nicht begriffen habe das nächste Woche im Wallis alles geschlossen ist!Leider haben wir in der Schweiz Kantonale Unterschiede und ich kenne nicht alle Vorgaben sämtlicher Kantone auswendig, deshalb habe ich das Restaurant ja telefonisch kontaktiert.Auf meinen Unmut der nicht Beantworteten Fragen wurde das Gespräch ohne Kommentar beendet.Den Frust der diese Corona Situation auf die Gastronomie ausübt an die Gäste, oder zukünftigen Gäste weiterzuleiten ist absolutes Amateu...

I’m giving this a 2 star rating for two main reasons: (1) the food was mediocre for the price nothing special (except for the bread) (2) they charged 5 CHF for tap water which is a joke. I’ve been in Switzerland for 10 years and never charged for a « carafe d’eau ». While I understand there is a charge for bottled water, we specifically asked for tap, which is excellent in Switzerland no need for bottled water. For me this restaurant is exploiting the fact that Zermatt is a touristy and expensive location. The only reason why I’m giving 2 stars instead of 1 is due to a cosy and charming atmosphere, and great bread. I leave it to you to decide if that is worth approx. 45 CHF per person.

Perfect choice to have our group dinner! Just a nice stroll from the town central. This place is so lovely nice ambience, comfortable seats, great service and awesome food! Most of us had the lamb rack and it was soooo delicious! Best part of this place is how accommodating the owner is. Very friendly from the beginning til the end, despite our inevitable noisy chats. We all had such great time and would recommend to anyone visiting Zermatt!

Ich kannte das Restaurant schon,weil ich vor ca.zwei Jahren einmal dort am Abend mit meinem Mann gegessen habe.Es gibt sehr abwechslungsreiche Gerichte,sehr schmackhaft und frisch zubereitet,tolle selbstgemachte Sslatsaucen knuspriges Brot und gute Qualität und gute Portionen.Wir schätzen diese Küche wirklich sehr Reserva una mesa ahora

Popped in here at end of a hike back into Zermatt. Mate and I fancied a shandy. We sat outside looking out at the road and views above. Good service, nice refreshing drink and a good rest before we moved on. The food menu was tempting

Always happy, excellent food (my favorite: meatloaf with mashed potatoes), friendly and courteous service. Great restaurant, we'll be happy to come back next February. Kind regards to Patrick and Bea.

Authentic cuisine with regional specialties in a cozy atmosphere. Dishes are freshly prepared and taste good. The hospitality team could be friendlier.
