So, my toes are wiggling as I write this because I'm that happy to be back at Rey's. We remember when this location opened. We had just moved in around the corner it quickly became our rest hole. I don't know how many friends, family, colleagues or out of town guests we fed during the years we lived so close. Apx 13 years ago we left CA moved to AZ. I still can't find comparable food. As small intimate Mexican restaurant with a large menu and excellent wait staff. Service was spot on, staff was accommodating and friendly and the prices seemed below what you would expect. The chips and salsa were top notch but the food failed to impress. Each member of my party, including myself, did not love the food. The presentation of the food was very good, it smelled good, but you could not escape some of the bland tastes or odd surprises. (Like white salsa! For the ambiance, staff, location and price we would all come back; it looked like the place could convert to a dance club at night—and that would be worth coming back for— but overall, the food was just okay.

I have visited this restaurant several times. The food is good and the staff is friendly. I would not recommend it for large families unless it's not too crowded, as the place is small and there is only one outdoor restroom for each gender. Additionally, the neighborhood is a bit rundown. However, the food and service are great, so you can still enjoy your meal.

I ordered the Mega Wet Burrito and it was great. Their chips are seasoned and their green sauce with lime and cilantro is very good. The pastor was seasoned nicely with a spice I couldn’t put my finger on, I thought maybe it was cumin? Either way it was hands down one of the best burritos I’ve had from Sacramento . I ordered the "Make Your Own Tacos" kit for 10 from the catering menu for my staff. The marinated chicken was delicious, and the beans and rice were wonderful. All of the sides, including churros for dessert, were perfect. My staff is very happy and we will definitely order from this restaurant again!

This is the smaller of the two Azteca restaurants. It's pretty small inside, but worth being a little cramped for the delicious food! I had the Judos tacos special and my date had the 2 item combo chicken enchiladas we were both very happy with our tasty meals and the very fast and friendly service.

I had the carne asada burrito with chips... The burrito was good but nothing special... It came with guacamole and sour cream your option it was a nice sized burrito... The place had small bar with seating inside outside... Friendly atmosphere with polite workers...

The food and service at this restaurant are both incredible. The staff are all exceptionally friendly. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Spent $50.00 on food recommended by staff. It was nasty and salty. We threw the food away. I dont see anyone offering a replacement or refund.
